Okay, I'm not too critical of the progress on it so far since I helped a wee bit Take a look, if you're registered there give your thoughts: www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1060905I can see a number of games I should weed out. I'm also kicking myself for not nominating more Game Boy games (I should've included Altered Space and Alien vs Predator: The Last of His Clan, two pretty unplayable games (in my opinion)! Anyway, lots of popular stuff there, but also some truly bad games (Deliverance, Route-16 Turbo, and Tetsuo Gaiden are three I nominated).

Too bad the DP forums are down half the time I've tried to access them.

Indeed. I hope to try this method out sometime at the Contra H.Q.
PM, by the way!

Final Fantasy VIII? SUB-TERRANIA?! The guys that voted those games onto the master list obviously have little appreciation for fine games. Especially in the case of Sub-Terrania. Sure, it might be hard, but it's still a damn good game.

Yeah I usually have a pretty big fetish for lists and listing things but I've been staying away from this one because it seems to be derived via opinions of what genre each person likes rather than what GAMES each person likes. Half the games on there are there specifically because the voting person simply doesn't like the genre.
To bring forth the Panzer Dragoon Orta example again, I know a lot of people who despise rail shooters, but acknowledge that Panzer Dragoon Orta is an incredible specimen of its genre and would never consider it a bad game.
This new list I'll give a chance since from what I've seen so far it's a major improvement. The original list lacked Drake and the 99 Dragons yet somehow had the original Dragon Warrior/Quest on it. I mean that game hasn't aged as well as Life Force or Super Mario Bros. 3 but come on, it's nowhere near a worst game ever made (especially on a list that only has one hundred entries). This new list seems to have switched things up to be more logical and less knee-jerk/begging for controversial entries.

Yeah most of the more glaring ones have been voted off last time I checked. (Tried to post myself but the site was going pretty slow.) How the hell did Sewer Shark get so high? I mean, it's not a good game by any standards, but it's not AWFUL and it's better than most FMV titles from around the era.
Also: Myst? Super Mario 64? Chrono Cross? Sonic Adventure? Those shouldn't even have been let NEAR the list. The kind of people that would even suggest those shouldn't even be let near these kinds of tallies. And this is coming from someone who despises Myst.

Yeah I hate Myst and its ilk too (though the Shivers series from Sierra is pretty cool, more adventure game like since there's more items to use and less puzzles) but I can't deny its importance. Without it and Encarta we'd still be loading Windows '95 off of 3.5 floppies.

I actually kinda like Myst, even though there are a few flaws (like getting stuck in one Age because you visited it without getting a vital clue from a previous Age). Overall, though, it's a great way to "get lost" (especially if you've got the 3D remake, realMyst).

I was never a big fan. The closest to that type of game that I actually got into (outside of the Shivers games) were those few good FMV ones that focused on collecting clues/talking to the right people. Basically more advanced Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective. I particularly enjoyed Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within and Dracula Unleashed.

Those are the kinds of games they're calling "bad"? Pfft, amateurs. You don't know the meaning of bad until you've played Mario's Fun With Numbers. Or Captain Novolin. Actually, I've played Captain Novolin waaay too much. Maybe because it's the only game I can beat in under 10 minutes.
Hee hee, I remember Sewer Shark. Brings back memories.

I'm still aghast that FF VIII ended up on the list. It's still a very damn fine game (better than IX and maybe even IV, but not VI or VII) that gets unceremoniously ragged. I missed seeing Myst, Chrono Cross, Mario 64, etc on the list and I have to say WTF? While Chrono Cross was inferior to the original, it's still a good game, and the other two are the kinds that defined their respective genres and kinds of gaming... oy....

Yeah, some calls are beyond atrocious. I understand if you hate or can't stand a game for what it is, but there's a difference between that and WORST GAME EVER. For example I saw ActRaiser 2 on there. What a joke or what!

Anyway, this is why I recommended the current method for the list It's obvious that Gapporin made a few changes, including moving the agree stage into the current one (which is a good change; now you just vote if you agree or disagree with an option, or abstain in the cases where you can't tell). But basically what you can do if you don't like the list is vote on what's there, and wait for the second round of games to go in. Add in all the truly worst games ever you can think of (I vote that Altered Space and Aliens vs. Predator: The Last of His Clan, both Game Boy titles, are going to be on my new list). Edit: I should mention that Myst has its ups and downs. I'd say that really, in the long view it probably deserves a score of 6/10 or so. The Selenitic Age was pretty woefully bad. Then along came Riven, and all was good.

Yay we'll make a list with some random moderatly good games in it to offend a few people who like them to try to be cool. Okay first this list should be the absolute worst not just kinda bad or boring this should be absolute bottom of the barrel nothing of even remote quility should even be considered. And how is Stake Fortune Fighters Hidden Invasion or Kabuki Warriors not on here?I'm very disapointed because DP is sweet site.
