Well, roushimsx beat me to all the scans that I had, but there is the fold-out poster that was also in GameFan: Dang, I was hoping you'd stumble on the other full page advertisement for the PS1 game that I've been thinking of but can't find. Man, it's annoying. Maybe it was for the PS2 game? I need to look at the stuff from '04 a bit closer. I've got pretty much shit for coverage for '05, though (not that it much matters given how weak the coverage was for the PSP release)

Now that is a sexy poster. It's definitely going in the article, with scan credits for both of you gentlemen. Well, I say that now, but I might forget when it comes to designing the HTML. If I do forget, give me a nudge!

Here's two from Retromags so you can find a way to sneak in a credit for them. I hope 2013 treats those dudes better than 2012 did EGM Aug '97 EGM Sep '97 Gamepro Nov '97 edit - It kind of frustrates me how unoptimized a lot of Retromags scans are. They could be 50%-66% smaller with no perceptible loss in quality if they went for more effective JPEG compression settings, which would really help a ton with their bandwidth concerns...

Which issue of EGM had that SNES article in it? I don't have the magazine anymore, but one of the pages has an ad for Expert Gamer magazine with an August 2001 date shown. Whether it's close to the actual date or just an old magazine in the image I couldn't say.

dang, my 2001 coverage of EGM is really spotty. I'm missing like, 75% of the year and I didn't see the article in any of the '02 stuff I have.

I found the May 2000 issue of Gamepro and scanned the best parts. First, we have some coverage on three Resident Evil games that were coming soon. Remember when Resident Evil 0 was going to be on the N64? It's pretty cool to look back on what we were looking forward to thirteen years ago. This is a surprisingly positive review for the N64 port of Daikatana. I never tried the N64 port, but the PC version certainly left a lot of room for improvement. This is a beautiful full page ad for the Metal Gear Solid on the Gamboy Color. It's one of my favorite ads. Preview for the much anticipated Strider 2. Special care was taken to say that even though the graphics are 3D, the game is still in 2D. The effects look very jarring today. Dreamcast coverage. Notably, a review for Chu Chu Rocket. There's also scathing reviews for Roadsters and Giga Wing in there. Bonus feature- Say No To Drugs, Kids! This page isn't game related at all, but it is pretty funny. Clinton era anti-drug PSAs at their silliest.

I'm gonna start scanning time to time. Half of my magazine collection is buried in storage at the moment but I do have some I can share. As promised to beach1, this is the strategy article for Fighting Bujutsu I said in the lost games thread. EGM² 45 March 1998Thanks! I actually never saw this article before. Despite looking very inspired by VF and Tekken, it looks cool.

Thanks! I actually never saw this article before. Despite looking very inspired by VF and Tekken, it looks cool. Good to hear! My second wave is here. Probably my last wave for now, I'll do more when I find my other magazines I am going through some cleaning house. The cancelled From Software game Gaia Blade taken from a Tokyo Game Show article in Game Informer 104 Dec 2001. I just cropped this cause it was the eye catcher of the bunch. A 1989 Toys R Us newspaper ad for the Game Boy. Had to crop the Toys R Us part cause I'm still new at scanning larger images and I got all of the GB part anyways. Interesting about this ad, it is a drawn picture, these days you get stock photos. Gamers Republic 24 May 2000 articles. My only copy of GR unfortunately. Munch's Oddysee PS2 TryRush Deppy, from same issue

I'm going through my old gaming magazine collection right now and I'm scanning the cool stuff. I forgot how much space in these things were devoted to cheat codes. I guess I only remember the good parts. I'll be back with a lot of scans from a lot of different publications when I have them done.
