Triple H wasn't wrestling around the time the game was made though. He debuted in 1992 and Sledgehammers came in the picture around the end of 90's I usually check my dates but you're right on this one: not only did I forget HHH's debut appearance, but it is probable that he , his agent , the artistic directors and or the people who wrote the script for him probably saw the Fire & Brimstone cover , or it's just a pure coincidence (they'd wish..) !! The promo photo looks effectively like a late 90's early 2000 shoot. The videogame world is too often pointed out as a nest of copycat artists and sometimes we forget that wrestling rips off concepts and graphics here and there as well. I'll edit the post. Randy Savage on the other hand started in the 70's, signed with McMahon in '84 and many posters show him making this sort of grin, so this is still plausible since the amiga game is from 1990. To the moderators: something is going wrong with the pic attachments. Some time after being posted and after a couple of edits, the pics disappear moments after.

To be more specific, HHH first used the sledgehammer in '99. On camera at least.

" Gemstone Legend" (1990) on Atari ST, a bland shmup, has a cover that rips off Dolph Lundgren's armor in the Motu movie (exact same spaldrons and harness if you pay attention) as well as his torso, and the infamous flaming dragon from the Boris Vallejo painting (the claws in particular). I'm sure I've seen the woman somewhere before, but I can't remember: From left to right: " Alien" (1979) movie screenshot , then cover art for Baal (1988) from Psygnosis: Left, screenshot from 1986 movie "Aliens" (Alien 2) ; right, Alien Breed (1991) by Team17 : Top, 2 pieces of HR Giger's concept art for Jodorowsky's "Dune" aborted movie project (project lasted from 1973 to 1982 then was recycled for Alien movie, 1979 and other movies) ; bottom, art for arcade version of "Alien Syndrome" (1987) by Sega:

corsair, Talisman RPG wasn't the only game to have the full painting, Black Tiger also had what you call an expanded version for the art (such as this wraparound), in fact it depended on the version . Promo posters were available too. Here's the full art without any text, artist is Peter Jones:

Spotted this ad while browsing this very site. (Better, bigger picture of the artThe guy on the left is the tracing of much-used Han Solo picture So thats another recent, and bit more bizarre considering they're the same franchise. The woman on the right might also be based on the Arnold-Conan picture.

Here's a quote by Archer Maclean about creating IK+, apparently he traced the backflip animation from a scene in the movie Grease. I've looked it up and made this gif

Not sure if this was brought up but I can't help but feel like this Fighter's History ad has same tracing in it. Some of it seems really familiar.

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time post. I'm an illustrator myself, so I recognize a ton of what's been in this thread, and I love the idea of it! Besides the frazetta Norseman, The angel in the one below is swiped from a Gustave Dore illustration from Dante's Inferno. So, if there's any illustrated covers that are perplexing anyone, I can try my hand at coming up with ideas! This guy is based off of a Spiderman drawing done by John Buscema for the drawing book, "How to draw Comics the Marvel Way." Lastly, I do have a request. There's a large group of portraits for the SNES port of ShadowRun, and the only one I have locked down in the main character. (first and second in the grid). I can with much certainty say that he's based on Charles Dance. Maybe not directly traced because his eyes look out of whack, but he even has that broken and reset nose. Alien3 came out the year prior so Dance is definitely plausible. Any suggestions for the others would be greatly appreciated! The Red-headed guy (4 over, 4 down) looks like Roddy Piper a little. Apologies if I'm resurrecting a 'dead' thread, but I'd love some help!
