Well, it was '94 so who knows maybe they were trying to advertise an upcoming PSX game. The odd thing is I don't rember that screen at all, and I can't place where it would go. It looks like Jump did this if I remember my logo (I can't read Japanese) and it was a cassette of some sort of E3-esque event. So maybe my theory works, but why wouldn't there be any others advertised....

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Where does it say Suikoden?

The screenshot in the lower left corner shows two characters from Suikoden; I can't read the kanji on it, but a quick glance at the copyright info does show a 1995 date for Konami...

Looks like a VHS promo tape of upcoming releases, not really system specific?

Oh yeah! I looked at it and first thought it was Zio from Phantasy Star 4, fighting the hero from Dragon Quest VIII. But now I see

It was probably originally planned for SFC but got booted up to the PS1 at some point in development. Rayman had this, too.

I am confused because all games are for Super Famicom. Suikoden release date is December 15, 1995 in Japan.
So if game development started in 1993. or 1994. its possible that at some point they switched to PlayStation.
Maybe there are some infos or pictures in japanese magazines from early phase? Maybe name of game was different? Or it was titled only as Konami RPG?
Hm, so on this VHS there can be video from Super Famicom version or early PSX version teaser or commercial?

The title for the screenshot says Gensō Suikoden all right.
It's a cassette containing material from V Festa '94, a gaming expo or something? I have no idea if the event was Nintendo-spesific, though - probably not, because it doesn't say so anywhere.

Bakudon what are names of other games?
I recognize only Dragon Ball Z and Chrono Trigger.
Is there date when V Festa 94 was held?

Nothing about that seems Super Famicom specific. The shot above Chrono Trigger clearly isn't from a Super Famicom game too. I'm guessing it's FMV or just character art from Gulliver Boy for PC Engine or something. The Suikoden shot is probably just some mockup and doesn't look like something the Super Famicom would be capable of either. I would guess that the only reason the video is so SFC-centric is because the system was so far ahead of the competition in Japan at the time, but the PlayStation, Saturn, and PC-FX were all out in Japan in 1994 and people were still playing PC Engine CD games as well. Personally, I wouldn't take this video/event as evidence of Suikoden starting on SFC at all.

Somebody must have a video, Chrono Trigger from the same tape got copied and there is a cover scan of the thing it cannot be the only stuff tossed around on the net... www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyo_AXQLIdI

I think I see Dragon Quest VI, and also Breath of Fire II in those screens. Not sure about the rest (except the ones you already mentioned) EDIT: Oh, the platformer is Go Go Ackman, of course.

Ok I have found some date for V Jump Festa 94.
Takahiro Imamura made a 15 minute movie adaptation Go! Go! Ackman, another manga by Akira Toriyama. This movie premiered at the 1994 V-Jump Festa on July 28, 1994, and later became a special video feature to be requested by V-Jump purchasers.
V Festa and V-Jump Festa are the same right?
