www.famitsu.com/news/201303/07029753.htmlCopypaste from NeoGAF: Curse you 3DS region lock. I'm actually considering importing this when it comes out and getting another 3DS later. Even though I honestly suck pretty bad at both games in the DS version, I still found them fun. Also sad that Umihara.org is no more.

3DS is certainly shaping up well this year so far. Let's hope this also comes over to the West...although it might not be very likely.

I don't know...if fans let Xseed, Atlus, or even UFO Interactive or NIS that they are interested, maybe they'll publish it. It's not like there's a ton to translate.

Sure, but there has never been an Umihara Kawase game in the West ever before, if I'm not mistaken. So the developers might not be too interested in bringing it over, and I would assume that there isn't as big a Western fan crowd for this as for RPGs and anything moe.

Man. I don't even own a 3DS yet, and suddenly the region lock really hurts right now.

Natsume, who were supposed to release the PSP game in the US as Yumi's Odd Odyssey, but cancelled it (heard it was due to bugs present in the Japanese version) is probably our best hope here. Agatsuma Entertainment, the developer, is also self publishing Code of Princess on the eShop in Europe, so with enough interest they could probably do the same thing for this worldwide, but that's less likely.

I don't have a 3DS, but if this game never comes outside Japan, that alone would be enough inspiration for me to buy a Japanese 3DS. I fucking love the Umihara series, so getting to play a new Umihara game would be incredible.
This really should come out outside Japan, though. I think the Umihara games have potential to be (relatively) big hits; particularly if they were released to a digital service like Steam.

Daaaaaamn! A new Umihara Kawase game and it's in a region-lock console. Please bring it in west market along with the older games.

Love the series but I suck at the series. I will generate a rift between dimensions with the speed that I will purchase this if it's released in the US.
So, you know, pick one: Save the Universe or Make Some Easy Money. You know what to do.

I'm glad they're fixing the difficulty and making it more accessible. Love the original game, but with the vertical learning curve, it quickly turned into a two or three level experience for a lot of people that I tried to introduce to it. Give it a more gradual build up and you've got yourself some potential for a hit.
I don't think the speed change is going to make it "less smooth" unless there's some framerate fluctuations in there. 30 is peachy awesome as long as it's stable and consistent. If he hadn't mentioned it, I'm guessing you never would have noticed.

Not sure about her, but I would definitely notice it was 30 FPS even if no one told me. There's a lot of motion in the game. Keep in mind that it's not only a reduction in motion smoothness, but also an increase in input lag (you'll have to wait twice as long between frames).
Not really a valid design choice to "slow down" a game, PR talk for performance issues they're not going to bother fixing. I'll still buy it, but this is definitely bad news.
