Vita supports Android, that's almost certainly why they're even bothering with it. Probably gonna be a straight port from mobile. Whut? Why isn't the entire Google Play Store available on Vita? Are they insane? Vita doesn't support Android. No clure where felixm got his information, but a Google search should tell you he's wrong. Also, Sony makes a lot of their money from licensing games, if they allowed the Google Play Store on the Vita they would cut off a lot of the income they get with the Vita. So even if Vita did support Android, they would never do that and that's perfectly rational. Not insane.

A teenage girl power walking away from a posessed killer with the attention span of a hamster is hardly a complicated thing to pull off. So I'm not gonna scream DOOMED before anything really is known besides who's involved. It's so easy people can't seem to fucking pull new IP out of that formula instead of going for "REMAKES" and "REIMAGININGS".

I dunno, there seem to be a shit ton of CT-like "run and hide from the monster" horror games these days. It's just that survival horror, while making decent money, always had a rather stark fall off in sales between the few big ones like Silent Hill, Resident Evil or Dead Space to basicly everything else. So with the production costs skyrocketing after the PS2-era, a lot of it migrated to the indie scene.
Also let's not forget that not everything Clock Tower was great either. The first two games are pretty cool, but Ghost Head and 3 are both pretty terrible.

So at least they ended on a high note, suggesting that they probably HAVE learned from their mistakes. And honestly, a cruise ship setting seems like a really good one for this game. Definitely willing to give the benefit of the doubt here. There's potential for greatness. -Tom

I own Haunting Ground since years, but newer quite got to play it. Never finished CT3 either, because it starts well enough, but than magical girl boss fight, and rave music clock tower appearing, and poor man's Kefka twins... ugh.

Give Haunting Ground a try sometime. I think of it kind of like an apology for Clock Tower 3 -- it's everything we WANTED Clock Tower 3 to be, with a few new elements added to the formula that actually worked really well (like the dog, Hewie, who growls whenever the murderer is a room or two away, signifying YOU'D BETTER HIDE RIGHT NOW HOLY CRAP -- or the fact that the murderer operates on actual AI this time and actually wanders the mansion independently in real time, leaving behind tracks that indicate, "holy crap, he/she has been here recently!"). It's a really good game, and is generally considered a proper followup to Clock Tower, but this time done right. -Tom

Clock Tower already made a comeback in Haunting Ground, a game notable for advancing the artistic sphere with its game over corpse sex noises. Waaaaah aaahahahaaaaah I wanna go home ;_; I've played a bunch of these. They're interesting but I like old Resident Evil and Silent Hill games more. Though Clock Tower is more spooky point and click so that's sort of an apples to oranges comparison. (Well, the ones I've played certainly follow the "unintentionally hilarious voice acting" tradition anyway.) In any case, I'm hyped to have something interesting to play on my iphone for once.

The funny thing about the voice-acting in the first Clock Tower game we got (1 in the U.S., 2 in Japan) is that the original Japanese game was recorded 100% in English, like Resident Evil... but unlike Resident Evil, I guess ASCII couldn't get the rights to the voice-acting or something, so they were forced to re-dub the entire script. So if you play the Japanese Clock Tower 2, all the voice-acting is in English, but with totally different actors than the ones we know... and in many ways, the actors for the Japanese version are better. -Tom

Well, there's also the awesome-looking Italian fan project Remothering, but that sadly seems to be going nowhere these days.

So, for those who missed it, Kouno and co. have created a Kickstarter campaign to get the game on PC platforms with home consoles being a possibility: NightCry for PC Kickstarter

I don't know, remember when Clock Tower was a Dario Argento-inspired hide and seek game? I liked that. This does not look like it. IT might be awesome but I'm not holding my breath.

Hmmm. I'm a pretty big survival horror nut, but this game doesn't look that interesting so far. We don't really see much of the game in action. Still, it might be promising.
With that being said... they're a high profile team that collectively has a century's worth of experience in the industry and they still need my money upfront to make a PC port of their mobile game? Get a bank loan, you bums!

To my knowledge, the guy behind NightCry is the guy responsible for the first two Clock Tower games only -- the SFC one and the first one on PS1, also known as the two GOOD Clock Tower games -- and NOT the guy responsible for Ghost Head/Clock Tower 2 U.S. or Clock Tower 3. So I have a lot of faith in this game to be something special. I also quite liked Shimizu's short film, though man... where did they get that lead actress from? She was almost on par with Tommy Wiseau! -Tom

Originally conceived as a phone game is a warning sign as far as I am concerned, but who knows? Could be good.
P.S. Take your fucking hats off when people take professional photos of you, you ill-mannered buffoons. No one wants to see your gross sweaty tornup junky baseball caps dudes.
