That kind of made my day. I love it when people play along with the Klaid mythos.

I hope it's not too OT if I reply in a rather serious manner.
I was in a pretty shitty place personally when I was into Street Fighter big time. I also failed my math and latin classes that year, and thus had to pass an additional test after summer break in order to advance to the next year along with everybody else. I'd actually argue that the discipline and the principle of "practice makes perfect" were to good use then, because I spent about 2 hours every day studying for that stuff - during summer break, no less.
Actually, the most important lesson of video games taught me where that with enough preparation (see Street Fighter) and chutzpa (see Monkey Island), I could hang in just any situation. This probably gave me the confidence to get in a ton of discussions I otherwise would've shied away from, especially at university, considering neither of my parents ever graduated. If there's anything I learned from hard video games, it's that there's a lesson to be learned from every failure - but I'd get it right next time.

I've learned new words from games, e.g., warioware smooth move taught me "loquacious" Actually that's the biggest thing I've learned from video games. It's increased my vocabulary a ton. And the biggest thing Dragoon ever did for me was teach me the word Bastard. Because I'm a cussy kind of guy around here, but I just tend to use bastard in real life, because people get all uppity on me otherwise.

Animal Crossing taught me that some trees hold treasures, but mostly, they hold bees or fruit. AC also taught me that foxes are bastards. ;_;
Resident Evil taught me that herbs can totally save you from being poisoned to death by giant, monster tarantulas, maaan. 8)
Silent Hill 3 taught me that Shakespeare can save you from hellish alternate dimensions.

Monster Hunter taught me that cats are the second-deadliest organisms on the planet.
Chrono Trigger taught me that the ultimate workout plan involves time travel.

I learned from Kingdom Hearts that it's a good idea to use a key in a fight.

Harvest Moon taught me that you have to buy friendship and love with daily presents. Alternatively, theres the dating sim route a la Persona 3/4 of stalking someone and always saying only what they want to hear.

Too busy for farming? Easy, go to a dungeon, scrub some monsters and they will work to death for you as long as you just scrub them once in a while. They will never make demands and make you rich.

On a serious note, I actually did learn something important from The World Ends With You.
That game taught me the importance of talking with people and not closing yourself off. It did it in a way that really got me thinking and helped me become who I am today. Hell, I'd say the game was a major reason I started writing and blogging, which lead me here. The world is a mess of conflicts, but we grow as people from those conflicts from time to time, and sometimes we can become closer. I always try to remember that when I feel like judging someone. I don't know the full story, only what I'm seeing. I may never fully understand, but I can try, and I will change through that attempt at trying to understand.
I played Persona 4 right after, and it actually helped me get some further context for understanding my own feelings on non-heterosexuality and gender. Despite how much I complain about how Atlus treats the game now, the original title brought up a lot of interesting ideas that I wish Atlus didn't do away with by sequeling the fuck out of the game to please otaku shitstains.

Quake taught me that the only way to kill really big enemies is indirectly.

Thanks to Paperboy, I know that when I want to cancel my newspaper subscription all I need to do is paint my house red.
Megaman has taught me that the easiest way to advance my career is to kill my boss, absorb their power and then use against the next one.
And the toughest of all. Super Mario Bros. has taught us that no matter how hard we try, our princess will always be in another castle.

The thing that online fps showed me is that the best tactic it is to follow someone on your team and spot your enemies when him is shooted down.
