I just beat Digital Devil Saga. I had a few problems with this game; mainly, that you can't get around the characters' elemental weaknesses like you could in a regular SMT game. But the ending was awesome and the game still had some pretty fun parts.

I just beat Digital Devil Saga. Are you planning on playing Digital Devil Saga 2 next? Hopefully sometime in the near future, but I can't get it right away yet. I look forward to it, especially after DDS1's ending. When it comes to the elements in the game and shielding yourself from them, I prefer to use Drain instead of Repel. I would rather have the enemy heal me. But on the Mantra Grid, Repel comes after Drain, which makes me think that the devs intended for Repel to be superior. Is that weird of me?

Digital Devil Saga 2 is when stuff gets really interesting. The new mantra grid also leeds to a bit more freedom in character developement. The game has the tendency to take characters away from you, though, which can lead to you having to go to boss battles without the person that learned the skills that'd help you.

Boy, that optional boss. Never again.
DDS2's is actually fun. I have a world record for beating that monster. (Did it at Level 80s)

I've been playing Soul Hackers on my 2DS the last couple nights. I've been thoroughly enjoying it, love that late 90s cyberpunk flair. However in the six hours I've put in, the game has froze on me twice. As in, I had to manually power off my 2DS because I couldn't even get to the home screen it was so froze. Apparently this is not an uncommon issue with the port. Oh well, game's great enough to put up with it.

There are some other glitches too where the text will not will not display properly, showing up outside of the text boxes or over the whole screen instead of just the bottom. They never patched it unfortunately.
The freezing glitch, if it helps, can happen most often when level one fire and ice magic is used (Agi and Bufu). Fortunately after a point in the game the enemies get strong enough that it's not an issue, but you also want to avoid using the Molotov Cocktail item since it creates the same effect as Agi. It's most annoying in the docks/warehouses area because a few demons that can cast Agi are in it.

Yes I've seen the text displaying outside the bounding box a few times. The first freeze I got was in the frozen warehouse. The second freeze happened at the airport. It was always during a battle with the magic effects going on. What you're saying makes sense because people say if you turn the special effects off the game no longer freezes. I'm looking forward to when enemies stop using those special effects then. Thanks for the info.

Weird, haven't seen that yet. Thought I was a ways into it.

The bounding text error occurs for me sometimes when I talk to demons in battle. (I talk to demons all the time trying to recruit them.) I haven't seen it in any other instance though.

Hah! I read about the 3DS port being glitchy, yet thought I got really lucky not running into any of them. But that makes sense now, I turned the spell effects off pretty much right away.

Sometime between now and Persona 5 I plan on replaying Persona 3 and finally playing Persona 4 for the first time.
I'm very excited to finally check out Persona 4 after all these years, any tips I should know?

Be prepared to have your socks fucking rocked off. Will you be playing regular P4 or the Vita version?

I own Persona 1, and Persona 2 Innocence on PSP, and Eternal Punishment on PS1, and Persona 3 FES on PS2, and Persona 4 Golden on Vita. But I have not played any of them yet because I'm a horrible person I suppose.
Thing is, I want to play Persona 4 Golden right now. But I feel like after that, it will be impossible to go back and properly enjoy the older games in the series. Am I being irrational? Or is Persona 4 really going to ruin the older games for me?
