This isn't a thread regarding emulating the DS, but rather homebrew emulators for DS. I'd like to know: - How to set it up
- What emulators have been developed
- What I should need (requirements)
Any extra information would also be helpful. Note: Please don't reply by saying "search it up on Google" Thanks

You primarily need some means to transmit data to your DS. There's two ways that I know of; via wireless connection (high risk of bricking the system) or a custom flash card of some sort.

Yeah, I'm definitely the go-to guy for matters lke this. The only real way to run an emulator on your DS is to get a flashcard, preferably what I have, which is an R4 (with drag-and drop action!) and a 2gig MicroSD card to put the stuff on. Other ways are way too dangerous, like Joe said. Emulators on the DS as of now (for major platforms) would be: NES (nesDS), runs 97% of all NES games perfectly. SNES (SNEmulDS), Numerous problems with a lot of games, but still, the best around. SMS/GG (DSMasterPlus), It works great, but speed can flux from fast to slow depending on what's going on in the game. But still, it runs the big games perfectly. Genesis (jEnesisDS), Works great with most games. Only problem so far: no sound MSX (fMSXDS) runs all original MSX games (slow) but almost every MSX2 game I have on mine wouldn't work, but it's still the best emulator out there. GB/GBC (Lameboy), depends on the game you're running. Otherwise, it's great.

There's also SCUMMVM, which can emulate SCUMM-based point-and-click games, most notably the old Lucas Arts games.

If you're seriously interested in portable emulation then you'd be much better off with a GP2X or a PSP.

That's true, but let's see how far we can go with this.

Do you have any links to where I can download these, or isn't it allowed?

I think it'd be an idea to pick up one of those cards with ram expasion so one could play Quake 2 on the DS.

Quake 2 on the DS sounds delish. Its still too slow at the minute, so I'm going to download DoomDS and QuakeDS first.
