GREAT interview. And since I literally just replayed NG2 on Sunday at a convention(and I was the only one there who could beat it ), the end credits are fresh in my memory. It makes me glad to know he considers 2 the best, because it is. And I'm very relieved that 2 ends the trilogy. 3 being a cut-in makes a bit more bearable.

The English manual is very vague about this. It claims that Ninja Gaiden III is the final chapter of the series, but the at the same time it barely mentions the events of Ninja Gaiden II, as if it hasn't happen yet.
Otherwise, cool interview. I love the artwork he provided to you (then again, I'm a sucker for any old-school video game art).

That interview was one of the sweetest things I've read. Sweet as in awesome, and sweet as in sentimental (for Mr. Katou) and you could really tell That last thing, about the games still being remembered was just really nice, I think.

I love the artwork he provided to you (then again, I'm a sucker for any old-school video game art). I was so glad he sent me those two. I seriously don't know if they were seen online before at all. I'm also happy this worked out, getting in contact with him was kind of a lucky shot.

Yeah, those are awesome! I really liked all his art. He has a nice "dripping" style, which really gets me in the horror-freak kinda way. I'm inspired!

I think the "Ryu stands outside the castle" sequences are the defining moments of any Ninja Gaiden title. I'm still pretty ticked off that the newer ones don't include similar parts in their games. That pre-pro art is the absolute icing on the cake for this interview, though.
Fantastic job, man!

I've got to chime in and just say how much I enjoyed reading that interview. So many questions answered, finally! And those two pieces of artwork are the icing on the cake.
In short: awesome. Thanks derboo!

Great interview, Derboo. By the way, what's with the words "sais" and "passwort" used in the questions?

By the way, what's with the words "sais" and "passwort" used in the questions? Oh, spelling errors. The y only turns into an i with the past tense form, right? Passwort is actually the German spelling. I sometimes get same-ish words like that confused.

Actually, "says" is "said" in the past tense I used to make the mistake too, and still do from time to time. It is easy to remember, since "d" usually goes at the end of past-tense verbs.

I just noticed I made a mistake with two additional images: The last two images of the sidebar for Ninja Gaiden 3 are titled "Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES)", but they're actually from the NES version.

This is an incredible interview. I hope it gets mentioned in the next update - we should be spreading links to this around the internet like wildfire. You've interviewed a legend. Sure a lot people might know the name Masatou Kato like they do Miyamoto or Kojima, but he worked on one of the best loved series around. How the heck did you actually organise this interview? What's your secret Derboo?
