There's a Triple Triad card that gives you 99 Auras if you refine it. I always just use that to steamroll over Omega.

There’s that, and the one that gives you hero drinks. I don’t see myself beating the weapons without ’em.

I say if the game gives you the option, it's not a mark against your gamer cred to make use of it. For example, the only reason I'm not using Yojimbo's Zanmato to insta-kill these remaining Dark Aeons is because you have to kill Dark Yojimbo five times in a row without dying or reloading your save. There's no way I could get him to trigger that move five times in a row, so it comes down to grinding for raw stats. By the time that's done, I'll be in a position to fight Penance and Nemesis the way you're *supposed* to anyway. Can't guarantee I won't just say f it and use Zanmato on them, though...

I didn't count it against my gamer cred either. And I'm sure there are plenty of people who never have. I'm just not really proud that I did it. Not in the same way I'm proud I beat Sonic with no deaths. Or that I'm undefeated in Total War battles. Of course I refuse to play my father so that one might be not as nice as I make it out to be.

FFVIII is really a game that's meant to be broken. If you don't have the Lionheart by the end of disc 1, you're not playing it right.

A lot of people seem to struggle with the weapon upgrades in that one. I think Square made it a little too difficult (or at least, not straightforward) for people to keep getting the next tier of equipment.

You really have to pay attention to it. I think I managed to only get the Lionheart. And really only because of that Limit Break. And Aura. And oops I won.

FFVIII is really a game that's meant to be broken. Yeah, FFVIII is designed so that any semblance of balance or difficulty evaporates almost immediately. Even if you play the game like a normal jRPG it's really weighted in favor of the player, and if you make even rudimentary use of the systems the game offers it breaks completely within just a couple hours. If you haven't become a walking god by the time several hours have passed something has gone horribly wrong.

You could say, spend the entire game spamming GF's. Barely drawing and barely fighting random battles. And then get to Adel X( Hypothetically speaking mind you. Not like that was how my first run ended....

I should probably take a break from Dark Souls II before I burn out. But I'm still playing Dark Souls II.
Still seeking the King. That is the only way.

Well I'm going on vacation in a few weeks. It'd be nice to finish before then.

Souls is like an abusive relationship Metal Gear could fall into that category, as well.

Metal Gear is more like self-flagellation.
