This is being made by the developer of those Naruto fighting games, so I wouldn't expect this to be as good as the two CP System III fighting games.

I hoping they get another anime studio besides Studio A.P.P.P. to do the series. I didn't like the Stardust Crusaders OVA (who the hell adapts the ending of a story first) and I heard the Phantom Blood movie was so awful, that Araki himself refuses to release it on DVD (citation needed of course).

While I don't have my hopes up (Jojo doesn't seem to have a high visibility outside of hardcore manga/anime fandom, I believe...in "west"), i'd love to get my hands on a copy of this game. While I know the author apparently hates parts 1 and 2, I quite liked them, so i'm really glad i'll have the chance to play as the original Jojo. Also, the prospect of a TV series based on this is equally awesome. (I'm surprised to learn there was an ova/film based on part 1 tho...would love to see that one day) WRRRYYYY!! (wreeeeee*)

But we did get 360 Tales of Vesperia and not PS3 Tales of Vesperia. For the first few years of the 360's life, Microsoft made a big push to get jRPGs on the system, and Vesperia was one of those games. But popular anime francises like Gundam, Naruto, Dragonball and so on are released for both PS3 and Xbox360. Heck, even Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage was released for Xbox360. The key word being popular. Naruto, Dragonball and Gundam are widely known and have enough popularity in the west that making 360 versions is a no-brainer. Fist of the North Star is actually an anomaly, as it is quite surprising that it was released in the west at all.If JoJo sells well enough in Japan and they think the game has a chance in the west, they very well might make a 360 port just to maximize potential sales, but given how obscure JoJo is in the west, it's not likely to get a western release at all, let alone a 360 port. If the game is probably going to stay in Japan, why would they bother making a 360 version if 90% of the market owns a PS3? Fist of the Noth Star is huge in France and Italy, so yeah maybe they thought ah well let's release it in US as well.

The English dub of the FotNS movie by Streamline was pretty successful though. Such a shame that both, Viz and Gutsoon, botched the manga when they released the English version.

It's the second one. The first one didn't have Mariah.

And the second version has 22 characters if you include the hidden ones (Different Kakyoin, Young Joeseph, Hol Horse & Boingo etc.)

Now that I think about it the reason that GioGio's Bizarre Adventure didn't got a worldwide release was due to copyright issues with the names of the Stands that were given after names of popular artists and bands like Aerosmith and Sex Pistols and Araki was bitch enough to refuse changing the names. Geez, was it such a big deal for him to change the names? It's not like it would change the manga so much.
And for that reason I'm worrying about the tiny possibilities for a worldwide release of All Star Battle.

They did changed Vanilla Ice's name to "Iced" in the Capcom fighting game, but that might as well had been Capcom changing the name on their own accord.

The US translation of Stardust Crusaders even had a few names changed. The one that comes to mind right away is how they changed Rubber Soul's name. Instead they called him Yellow Temperance, which was the name of his stand, and in a later volume changed Steely Dan to Rubber Soul. This leads to a lot of confusion when talking about those characters. They also dropped Devo's name and just called him Soul Sacrifice.
It's stuff like that which makes me doubt any releases outside of Japan.
