The demo isn't bad, but I was hoping for Joesph or perhaps Part 8 Josuke. I'm interested in how story and campaign play out in the overseas version and being a fan of the manga, I've thoroughly enjoy seeing attacks in the comic come to life.
And of course, there have been some name changes to avoid copyright issues and such, being that stands and some characters are named after bands and songs. Not all have been revealed so far but some of them are passable and some are just awful.
Changes include: Killer Queen -> Deadly Queen Golden Experience -> Golden Wind Stone Free -> Stone Ocean Aerosmith -> Li'l Bomber (although I've seen an supposed screenshot that just has it named as Airplane)
The worse offenders: Sticky Fingers -> Zipper Man Jean Pierre Polnareff -> Jean Pierre Eiffel
That last one doesn't make much sense. Polnareff was alright back when the Capcom arcade game was released in HD in August 2012 and his name was fine in the Viz translated manga that was published from 2005-2010. So, sometime between late 2012 and now there's a problem?
Oddly enough, Soft & Wet is.....Soft & Wet.

It always annoys me how Family Guy could have Optimus Prime show up because it was a "parody", but JoJo can't name characters after songs...

Having Optimus Prime show up in a cameo appearance as part of a gag is one thing, having Optimus Prime as a regular reoccuring character without attribution is another.

I'm really psyched this is coming out here later this month (Was REALLY pissed off at Polnareff being renamed, he's my fav character! GRRRRRRR!!) There was a pre order bonus for 2 DLC characters, but theyw ere for later arcs i'm not too familar with so I decided I didn't care.
Will prolly get Lisa Lisa and maybe old Joesph as DLC tho. Otherwise for the moment, I'm mostly interested in the chapter 1 and 3 characters (As those are the only parts of the manga I've read. I read most of Part 2 but I got antsy to skip to part 3 as I heard good things about it. The pillar men were also not the most interesting Villains, at least not compared to Dio.)

On one hand I'm sad they didn't go with a Dio song, but on the other hand I love the new ending animation, it goes great with the song they chose (not going to spoil it for those who haven't watched this week's episode).

Picked this game up yesterday (Was quite happy, my last day of holidays and JoJo was out a few days earlier than I expected). I've been enjoying the game so far, tho I'm a little bit disappointed in the story mode, there is a little bit of text between each fight, but it skips heaps(one of the part 2 chapter titles talks about a link between Joesph and Lisa Lisa, but doesn't actually say WHAT that link is or even allude to the title chapter! I guess its bare bones expecting you to know the manga. I only really know the 1st 3 chapters ) and the characters don't really seem to interact with each other much. Mind you I think its meant to be barebones and just a tool for unlocking characters, I suspect the meat of the game will be in campaign mode, and I noticed a message saying it will be available for download on 25th. the arcade mode that was added seems to be a fairly standard arcade mode in terms of "fight these random fights in a row" tho outside of some gold to unlock artwork and sounds and junk, there are no character endings which is a slight shame. still glad I got the game, but I suspect half the fun is knowing all the various characters, and I don't

Well, it looks like none of you are playing this, lol. But just in case you are, the campaign mode was activated today. I quite like it so far, its kinda neat how u encounter other peoples avatars as NPC battles, and you even get a little menu that shows the fights other players had against your avatar. So far I've barely unlocked any Jonathan medals which is a little annoying, tho I've only played campaign for around an hour. According to the leader board, some people have already pumped nearly 19 hours into this game. Yikes! There doesn't seem to be any DLC online for the game at the moment, which strikes me as odd. I'm not too upset tho, I haven't finished playing story mode to unlock the rest of the characters. I did get 2 wins online, but it was super laggy for me (According to my game card, it looks like the game considers me to be EU based(Am in Australia), but PSN is always super laggy for online for games ) final edit: The name changes are all the more annoying when you can hear the Japanese actors saying the actual names. Dammit, the name change to Polnareff is so aggravating! I hates it so much!

Apparently my copy shipped yesterday...but isn't getting here till monday. Ugh.

Ah that would explain the lack of posts. Would also explain the weirdness of the game coming out a few days before the campaign mode was activated.

Is this another "Single Button" fighter like CyberConnect's other fighters?
Especially since this is Amazon-exclusive in the US, I'm kind of wary about ordering it if it's too shallow.

Nope, the commands seem to be mostly the "Ryu Fireball" motion, which I like. Hitting light attack rapidly does an auto combo(if you hit and the opponent doesn't dodge) that ends with your minor super move, and you activate your 2 bar super with a single button. I kind of prefer this, as I never really enjoyed charge motions (There are a few commands that seem a bit like charge motions, but aren't. Jonathon has a rapid punch attack for example where you hit back, then forward and attack (light heavy or medium), and I especially always hated the super complicated motions some character had (Why do they make Geese Howard SO HARD TO PLAY!?!? ) I've not played all the character, but those I have played have all been pretty easy to work out and do their moves. And unlike later Tekken games, you don't have an insane list of moves the character can do, so u get a feel for what the characters can do pretty quickly.

I preordered my copy from Namco's store despite the risk. Just hoping I don't screwed over like the Ni No Kuni preorder people.

That sounds like what they did with Ghost battles in Tekken Tag 2. Is this another "Single Button" fighter like CyberConnect's other fighters? Especially since this is Amazon-exclusive in the US, I'm kind of wary about ordering it if it's too shallow. I only played the demo but it's got 5 total command buttons: Light/Medium/Heavy attacks, Style button, and the sidestep button. In terms of complexity it felt a lot like a simplified Street Fighter than anything else, but it wasn't completely mindless or anything. I didn't like how the 2-bar supers only took 1 button to execute because I would occasionally get those to come out on accident when I wanted a regular special move.

Check your email; I got a confirmation that mine shipped but it won't be here until Monday (since UPS is lame and is like "you want SATURDAY delivery!?!? Fuck you!"). One of the guys I follow on Twitter got his copy already, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and anyone else that ordered from there. I didn't want to get it from them for the same reasons you mentioned but I wanted to get the Kira DLC.
