Re: backstabs. Line up with their right shoulder and hit R1, that's the best way to land them in my experience.

It's not landing backstabs, it's constantly watching people teleport into the backstab animation from 30 feet away 45 degrees in front of me. They need to fix up their netcode or just get rid of that animation or whatever has to be done to make lagstabs not a thing anymore.

Crap netcode shouldn't be a problem since they plan to use dedicated servers for Dark Souls II instead of P2P in Dark Souls.

This was a good interview that alleviates a few worries I was having.

Bonfires are back? Interesting. So this DOES take place in Lordran again?

Not necessarily. Same world, Lordran was just an area of it from what I gathered. Although notice where the humanity counter was there appears to be some kind of clock. My friend and I were musing about how cool it would be if some of it took place in the age of fire and some in the age of dark.

Man, that raises so many questions. Does this take place after the first game? Did the hero of that game link the fire again, or did he choose to become the dark lord? What would either decision mean for the areas outside of Lordran? And most importantly, will we get more of this:

Still not entirely sure how Gwynevere could be a giant while Gwyn was the size of a normal man. Probably don't want to know, either. Rule 34 has a section devoted to Dark Souls, though, so I'm sure someone has already broached the subject.

We don't actually know how big she is since she was just an illusion created by gwyndolin. the real gwynevere fucked off long ago and got married to some fire god

Right, but I would imagine... ...it's accurate, since it's meant to fool people into thinking it's the real deal.
