I was watching Thief (GREAT movie by the way, highly recommended) the other day and during a scene in a courtroom this song plays: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqEujUKoi9QAnd I thought "that sounds familiar" and I realized it sounds reaaaal similar to the intro song of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake! www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpIjT-LhNwg&t=471sSomeone in the comments backed me up on this so I know I'm not just hearing thing. |

Someone noticed that the music in Thief seemed to have been heavily inspired to create the music for Snatcher.

Hopefully someone sees this. I am 100% certain that track from the 1990 PC-88 VN Mirrors sounds extremely similar to a piece I've heard before, but I can't replace. I think it may be a well-known Jazz piano piece, but it could also be from a soundtrack. Anybody?

lurker I thought I actually had looked at the comments! Guess not. Thanks for pointing it out. That's definitely it. EDIT - Turns out it's in both Mother 3 and Persona 2: Innocent Sin, which it why it sounded so familiar to me. Japanese game composers love to use that piece, it seems.

I'm sure it's been mentioned already but Doom is my favorite kind of plagiarism. I know people go on about the Playstation version of Doom with its creepy soundtrack, but to me it ain't DOOM without the Metallica, Pantera and other ripoff-songs.
