Put in my vote for Desert Strike, but I get the sneaking suspicion that a certain Koei sim is going to take the lead this month. :p

No votes for Baseball Stars so far. I mean, I voted for Liberty or Death, but I wanted a more peacefully-patriotic option too. I could only pick one and it doesn't get much more American than playing as a Founding Father---THE Founding Father, even---so I went with Liberty or Death.

See, I could totally get into another sports game since baseball plays a LOT differently than football. There's also differences in how the sim element is handled, too!
Not sure what to think of Liberty or Death. Strategy games really just aren't my thing.

Funny you should cast your vote for Desert Strike, by the way---I'm listening to "Holiday in Cambodia" right now.

Hmmm, nothing's really calling out to me, so I think I'll sit back and watch how the poll goes. If Baseball Stars wins, can I play the Neo Geo Pocket Color game, or is that a totally different experience? (I've got the NES game, but stored away at my mom's house so it's no good to me right now; I've also got Baseball Stars Professional here but I assume that's a sequel.) Would have to buy the other two outright (I feel like I have practically every Strike game BUT Desert, haha.)

I'd say any Baseball Stars game is fine! I was going to give the arcade games a spin in addition to the NES version.

Pseudo-relatedly - anyone know of any Strike-style games on Steam or GOG? I could go for a nostalgic 'splosion-fest this weekend.

Where's the token Canada Day choice? I guess there's always the option to play the British in Liberty or Death...

Going for Desert Strike only because I love the 16bit editions of this series. Well Desert and Jungle anyway. Perhaps it's short sighted of me. But it still gets my vote.

Desert Strike mostly because I don't have the patience for baseball or turn based heavy sims

Desert Strike mostly because I don't have the patience for baseball or turn based heavy sims Playthroughs of Liberty or Death can take up to 250 hours? Crap. That's insane.

Damn. Baseball Stars and Desert Strike are two childhood favorites. Tough choice.
