Spy vs Spy. Let's say the NES version. Not the worst game by any means, but i hardly 'love it'. Oh, man! If that counts, then put me down for loving that game too -- one of my favorite 2-player NES games to play when I was a kid. Played that and Archon against my brother and my friends all the time! Only real flaw is, there are 8 measly levels, and the 5 items + 2 weapons are located in the same furniture items every time you play any of them. A mode that randomized the placement of objects would've been really appreciated, because I totally memorized every embassy after a while and was able to just breeze my way through the game! -Tom

There are lots of "bad" games that I like but as far as games that I "absolutely love," Yoshi's Story might be appropriate, though I would wager more people would say it's a letdown than a bad game. I adore Yoshi's Story and I replay it yearly. It's definitely not as good as Yoshi's Island but I love the denim and newspaper-y backgrounds, the music, enemy designs, fruit system, and Yoshi's controls. It's one of my favorite platformers in fact. I've played Yoshi's Story a few times although I haven't beaten it. I really love the game's style as well, there's something really charming about it.

I replayed Croc a few years ago and it wasn't too bad. It's designed around the tank controls so that cuts down on the frustration. Croc 2 is what I have trouble with. The directional controls are much harder to use.
For a bad game, Earthworm Jim 3D. I just like it. I used to be super into EWJ as a kid so that's 100% of it. Watched the cartoon and had the toys.

I'm a big Castlevania the Adventure apologist. No need to be apologetic - it's a pretty good game. It has one major flaw, namely the relatively slow speed it's running at. But I think one can get used to that. Otherwise, in terms of presentation (especially the music) and game design it's a really well made title. So the worst game that I still like a lot would probably be Rebel Assault. It's a bit of a mess, with cobbled together and badly compressed visuals (hand drawn, prerendered and live action) and less than ideal controls. But it's still charming to me in a way that many recent Star Wars games are not.

Energy, Pc Engine. The music is good, the presentation is cute and low-key (which is refreshing and reminds me of The Lost Sunheart), the story is intriguing and the level design and gameplay is all there but the execution let's it down, way down. Still, I play and enjoy it. I would really like to play the game it is based on, Ashe for the PC88: www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23611312--- For those interested there is a translation patch that also improves the speed of the screen transitions and text: www.romhacking.net/translations/2936/If only someone could improve that jumping...

Ha! Spy VS Spy!!!! That game was certainly a blast to play against friends. I kinda prefer the setting of the first game over the The Island Caper.
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, seems arguably the "worst Zelda" game in the series. But I actually love it a lot.
Final Fantasy XIII. Gets a lot of hate. I quite enjoyed it.

I'm a big Castlevania the Adventure apologist. And I have a soft spot for Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Even I think the repetitive environments get super tedious, but honestly the game has really grown on me the 3 times I've played it, I mean once you look past the repetition the graphics are gorgeous for a PS2 game, the music is completely stellar and the combat is a lot of fun. I do wish the story was better though, it was hyped as the "origin story" for the series but it feels like a total afterthought.

Yoshi's Island DS I suppose. Is it an amazingly designed game? Hell no, the game feels like a ROM hack of the original with level design closer to Kaizo than a Nintendo game.
But I really enjoyed it none the less, and still felt it made a worthy sequel to the first game.

I enjoyed the entire FFXIII trilogy. XIII-2 is probably the best, but it doesn't stand on its own that well, TBH. Neither does Lightning Returns.

Apart from the first Bubsy, the only game that fits the description is the Genesis version of Altered Beast. Mostly just for the nostalgia and camp factor. Also, it helps that it's actually tolerable to play compared to the horrendously unfair arcade version.
