Off topic? I'm assuming that you meant to post that in the Konami Beat-em-ups thread.

Is Bucky O'Hare NES a beat'em-up? How did I miss that?

Yes, I meant that. Damn, both had Konami in the title, and it was late.
Sorry. Post deleted.

Sorry to bump this thread, but did anyone see Irategamer's review about TMNT? Not only did he get so much information wrong on Turtles in Time, and bash TMNT 2 and TMNT 3, but he also had the nerve to claim that the Arcade TMNT game was released first, when in actuality, it was the other way around.

While we're on the subject, might the new DS Arcade Attack game be worthy of a blurb?

Maybe? I've seen it in the stores but haven't really looked into it myself.
Can anyone weight in on it?

Isn't that the same review he got in trouble for plagiarizing the Angry Video Game Nerd? I doubt that anyone seriously pays attention to the guy anyway, except for the IrateGamer fans on Youtube who are most likely just trolls trying to piss off AVGN fans. Also, the TMNT arcade game and the NES game came out already same time. At the very least, they both have the same copyrights date. Chances are they were made simultaneously. And is not like he would be the first guy who doesn't do his research outside of reading Wikipedia.

Of course, one could make a case that in the narrower context of 2D scrolling fighters they might be acceptable, but the reviews seem to take that into account.

I can definitely give it a full play through and let you guys know my impressions since I have a flashcart and love TMNT games (the good ones), and then you can compare opinions with somebody else (so you don't have to take my word for it) and polish it into a piece for the main article. I don't have time, however, to write a full review. Let me know.

That'd be perfectly cool. If you could furnish a save game from your flash cart it would help to use with an emulator to take screenshots, too. Thanks!

From what I've seen, at least looking at the box, the graphics on the new TMNT arcade game for the DS look really horrid, I don't like the art style at all.
it's also just a wee bit too expensive for an arcade game, as even if I play it through I just don't see myself playing it often enough to justify the price. $20AUS yeah, but I think it currently sits around $50AUS or $60AUS.

I beat Arcade Attack once some months ago and it bored me to death. For a title inspired by the arcade classics of it's heyday, it features none of the fun stuff featured in said classics.
The stages are merely just backgrounds that your characters fight on, powerups are littered EVERYWHERE which makes the game pretty easy, the music sucks, and the graphics are kinda ugly, even for a DS game.
I'd say the only thing cool about it is the controls (which are alright) and team-up moves, I guess. And when the Turtles get cool power suits for the last stage which takes place in the future, but that's only a cosmetic change...

Guys, here's a save state with a full play-through but lacking some unlockables. When you use it for screenshots, take into account that the game is cutscene heavy, and since these are based on the original comic, they are worth grabbing a couple of shots from. I'm gonna play it once again before I wrap it up and give you my impressions. www.blamethecontrolpad.com/Images/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_Arcade_Attack_USA.sav
