I really need to grab some music from these games, because they're all excellent. I also wanted to cover a bit of the recent GBA game from Ubisoft - while not by Konami, it is a beat-em-up, and it's actually quite good. Before people start coming in and going "where's the X game", where X" can be "the original NES game", "the Gameboy games", "the GBA games", or even "the PS2/Xbox/GC games" - well, they really don't fit the critera. This article is meant only for the original Konami beat-em-ups, and all of those others are more action-sidescrollers. Also, any of the more recent ones that aren't covered here are kinda really bad, and we don't want to play them. Maybe one day a brave soul will take on all of them for a mega TMNT article, but until then? HA! Although I wouldn't mind seeing a Tournament Fighters article in the future....

This reminds me that just a few weeks ago, a friend and I replayed the Arcade Game. We beat it, then just talked while watching the demonstration. We finally got around to seeing the profiles; lo and behold, they say that the turtles are all 5 ft tall or shorter. That put a damper in my heroic, badass imagery of them that I try to keep oh so dear Psh, didn't include img117.imageshack.us/my.php?image=0003oa5.png ? Though I am curious as to what the 4 player version of that looks like. - Hmm, you forgot to mention that in Turtles in Time as well that points differ depending on how you killed a guy. The slams differed from the throws, and they both differed from regular kills. I forgot the exact quantities though.

I think the section on Turtles in Time should include some discussion on the additional modes and options.
In the options menu you can also choose an option to put the turtles into "Comic Mode" which takes the pupils out of their eyes just like in the comics when the turtles wear their bands.
You can also turn dashing from "Auto" to "Manual" allowing you to be able to dash with a double tap whereas the default for the SNES port and the arcade version you have to walk long enough in one direction for it to turn into a dash. Dashing is a particularly useful move in stunning those Foot Soldiers with the blocking armor in Hard mode. Also, throwing the Foot Soldiers happens at random in the arcade whereas in the SNES you have to stun a Foot and press toward and attack at the same time to do it on command.
Speaking of: no mention of the awesome SNES-only boss battle where you throw Foot at the screen to damage the Shredder in a tank?
Also, the multiple difficulty settings warrant different endings like in Contra III telling you to play the game on Hard to get the real ending.

Not every detail needs to be told. If the article comes off like an instruction manual then it's going to bore people. The whole point to this article was to sort of explain why these games are remembered so fondly by looking back on what made people care so much about them to begin with. That is what makes these such noteworthy titles. Going on and on about scoring systems and things like that wouldn't really fit with what I was trying to do.

I actually think it's legitimate to tell some of those things. I mean that Shredder battle is one of the coolest things about that port. It's innovative and worth making a fuss over.

Some of the TMNT IV stuff is definitely relevant. I'll add it in later. I added stuff about the point system to TMNT III because I remember it being kinda significant back when I first played it, so maybe it's worthwhile for that one too.

Given the number of minor characters that cropped up once or twice in the series and the extreme number of toys that were churned out, this is probably a foolish question, but perhaps the major villians should be added to the "Characters" section?
I don't think an encyclopedic description is neccecary, but you may at least want to mention Shredder and Krang are, and I'm pretty sure Bebop, Rocksteady, and Baxter Stockman (pre- or post-mutation) appear in all of the games.

You forgot to add "in Japan" after "Gekikame Ninja Den".
"In Japan, this game was simply titled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", due to the fact that the original TMNT game for the Famicom was released under a different name as "Geki Kame Ninja Den" (Fighting Turtle Ninja Tale)".

"Minor characters" would be the key words there. Only the playable characters' profiles are necessary. I explained who Shedder and Krang are in the text. Again, if people want a more detailed history of the series than what I gave then they can visit a dedicated Ninja Turtles fansite.
