Am I the only person that is getting fed up with hearing about Naruto all the time? I swear, nearly every time I fire up some website like Siliconera, I see some blurb about a Naruto game or see a picture of one of the characters in a screenshot.
Anybody else annoyed about this? Or am I just losing it?

No, it's not just you. I'm also sick of hearing about Naruto all the time. What's so great about a series that lasts wayyyyyyyyyyyy over 100 episodes?

Naruto and InuYasha are two of the most boring and overrated anime series out there, up there with Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing. And 100+ series can be entertaining and interesting, such as Hokuto no Ken (fist of the north star) and One Piece (which is kind of overrated as well).

................................................................................................... ... y'know... much as I love both cartoons and Japanese culture... somehow, I am REALLY not fond of anime. Of course, there are a few exceptions (Vampire Hunter D and Lupin III, for example), and I've been meaning to watch some Hokuto no Ken, but... besides that, there's just something about it that doesn't just click with me. I don't heart it, but I'm not sick of it... I'm just indifferent. Though, with the overexposure certain series receive, I can't blame you for becoming sour to it. And InuYasha has also been mentioned... from what I understand, quite a few think of it as the worst offender of clicheness. Reminds me of this VGCats comic! GRATUITIOUS PROFANITY AHEAD!www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=191

I used to be a big fan of anime, maybe seven-eight years ago. My first introduction (besides seeing things like Dragon Quest on Sunday morning when I was a kid) was staying up late one night, and catching Vampire Hunter D on TBS, uncensored (except for nudity of course). I was shocked... the animation style was so different than what I was used to, and it was pretty thrilling for a kid to see cartoon violence. After that was Robot Carnival, which was also enjoyable in a different way. I found out I had a classmate who was also into it, and he suggested things like Ninja Scroll, Fist of the North Star, Akira, and Dragon Ball Z. So I went to work (Media Play at the time) and explored the anime section. My discount was put to good use. I had a coworker that was into anime as well so we struck up a conversation and before I knew it I was basically handing my paycheck over to Media Play every week. I even went to a convention once, which was interesting but scary. Anyway, pretty shortly after that I lost interest in anime. It was getting too samey for me. I don't like the style most anime is drawn in nowadays. I prefer the chunky cel look versus the clean computer-aided look most anime have now. So yes, I am sick of hearing about Naruto.

At least, you have the luck of not to live in Italy, where Dragonball is continously aired since 1999!

I enjoy the Naruto manga but the anime blows. I'm pretty much a manga addict I've probaly read more manga then anyone else just because I'm more open minded about diffrent types.
Inuyasha I absolutly hate in all forms it's probaly the most boring repetitive crap I've ever read or watched.(Worst fight scenes ever as well)
Just curios are their any fans of BOTI or Vagabond here?

The anime is decent It's got some of the best choreographed fight scenes in an anime i've seen on cartoon network. It's a love it hate it thing.
Plus the games are pretty fucking awesome for some strange reason they dont suck like most anime games.

TELL ME ABOUT IT. At least cel animation has character and personality to it. CG is a great tool but I despise how it's being thrown around like table salt.

I watch Naruto, but mostly to kill time or see what Rock Lee does next.

I don't know if it's at all evident from other posts I've made, but I live a bit of a secluded, out of touch life (with the main website's focus on early 90's video games, I registered here wrongly assuming others lived as I did), and have not seen much of the mangas and the aneemays. I did come across some comics someone lent my sister, Naruto among them, and so I had a look through that. It seemed to me 1) this guy was just making up his powers as he went along and 2) there's not really much else to do after this one volume, though it insists it is continued. N'ruto can, in this first episode, not only generate a hundred duplicates of himself, but have them all "flesh and blood," as one character put it. Even Spider-Man can't do that! The only way this guy can lose is if he fights someone who can make a hundred and two "flesh and blood" clones, and then this will go and on, perhaps even to the infinity plus one! level last seen in the arguments I had when I was 7 years old . I can't stand that whole "ultimate power beaten by ultimater power, seeks next most ultimate power" genre, because it loses all connection with any comprehendable earthly standard. Short of listing level counts next to combatants and showing how many hit points are deducted following an attack, all I can do is wait and see who falls down and who laughs.
Ehhh, I hope book 2 has proven me wrong, though I also hope it hasn't, because I hate being wrong.

A lot of anime gets killed by to much filler. I don't watch to much tv so I don't see it all over the place so I guess I don't get so bothered by it.

Every party I go to usually has a few people just lounging about in some off room and flipping through channels. And it seems that every Saturday, someone inevitably gets to Cartoon Network, watches Naruto for a good 45 seconds, shrugs, and moves on to any of the legion of Alton Brown shows that might happen to be playing at the time.
That pretty much sums up my experiences with this particular anime.

I've seen a fair bit of talk about Naruto on the 'net, and seen a few manga volumes at my local comic shop, but most of the talk/posting/whatever only made me more eager to see it, which I finally did, a few days ago.
Still, unlike the majority here (it would seem), I really enjoy anime, have for years, and I find the "power level action" types do indeed appeal to me. In fact, I much prefer action filled anime (And I CAN'T STAND the kiddified CGI movies that infest cinemas these days, the awesomeness of Pixar excepted).
Still, I'm a lot less fussy when it comes to the stuff I like *shrugs*

The only anime I can ever watch anymore is Paranoia Agent and Ghost in the Shell. It's all too lame for me.
