To be fair MML does take a bit of time to hit its stride. You need to go through bit of linearity and a couple of tough boss fights before the game really opens up.

I even never thought of MM 64's controls to be any bad, despite them having been bad-mouthed way more ever since the game's release, so, yeah, I also fail to see how MML's controls are any bad.

MML's controls are clunky compared to the 360-degree analog movement in games like "Super Mario 64" and "Ocarina of Time". The lock-on system isn't very helpful or developed either, and strafing/turning with the shoulder buttons simply feels awkward these days. If you're not used to the setup, all this can pretty jarring if you're playing the game for the first time.

Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time aren't focused on shooting, though.
And to be honest, I like strafing/turning with the shoulder buttons. Left my thumb free to use the face buttons.

Not until you actually play it and find you don't like it anywhere near as much as the first two.

What could one have possibly bought a 3DS so far?

man should I feel bad I essentially spent 250 bucks to get a pay-for demo of a game that isn't even out yet? should I feel terrible?Pretty much. I dunno. This is just another crass experiment in milking extra dollars out of gamers. People may cite Case Zero, but at least in that instance you knew the game was coming out whether you bought it or not. Here, Crapcom is holding the full game hostage and this is the ransom. And like a real hostage situation, you still don't know if they're gonna hold up their end, or if you're going to get a severed ear in the mail with a request for more money.

I had a nice job at the time! Splashing out is almost a requirement when you have a good job! I think I got it from Lik-sang too. Remember them?

The 3DS shop is scheduled by Nintendo to be up by "this evening." Capcom said they'd have the demo up when the shop launched.
If all goes well, I will be giving MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 a shot tonight. Excitement!
