Tali's likeable enough. Though who knows what sort of horrible tentacly hellbeast she is under that mask.

Well you can see a silhouette through her mask, and nothing looks too tentacly.
And personally, I like Tali the most, but I play a Femshep. She went through a bi-curious phase in while in the academy, but Tali wouldn't be an option anymore.

If you thought those light spots were her eyes, you're in for a surprise!

I'll be honest, at first I was massively disappointed when I saw how long it took Charge to, well, recharge. But now that I know how weight works, I'm really looking forward to dashing around the battlefield like some sort of flightless Tekkaman. Much cooler than hiding behind walls. Plus one of the final upgrades of charge is a 25% of no recharge time, the megaton punch can be used always you have shields and have an upgrade of 25% less recharge to all your powers... I can imagine now combos of megaton punch -> megaton punch -> charge -> megaton -> megaton. Shepard smashs indeed.

It's like actually playing Jack's introduction cutscene.

The multiplayer demo is up.
Imagine to mix the normal campaign with the horde mode from gears of war 2/3.
I have checked how much weight affect power recharge, looks that I only going to wield a shotgun and nothing else.

Played the demo, seems pretty good! It looks a little better than ME2, but otherwise didn't notice much else different. I really enjoyed ME2 so I'll pick this up as well, but I might wait a bit and see if I can't save some money.

Was this supposed to recognise my save state from ME2? Because I got stuck with the generic Shep, instead of the ginger bearded dude I made before.
Also, AGAIN you are not allowed to skip cut-scenes. With ME2 it drove me nuts sitting through that opening, again, and again, and again, and again.
I reached the second half of the demo and had to quit. Can't skip anything so there's no way I'm going back for another attempt, unless: is there some incredible payoff later in the demo?
Also, the thing I liked least in ME2 was al the cover shooting, which as you'd expect, is all they focus on in this. It's just dull. I think I might wait for the GOTY release with all the DLC, and maybe a price drop. I've no desire to sit through 20+ hours of endless cover-based gunfights anytime soon. I only recently clocked UC3.

Good point about the cinemas. Playing through ME2 a second time was a pain, since you have to go through that whole intro all over again.
It didn't read my save either.

Sketcz, I'm not sure if they'll do a GOTY or not, since they never did one for ME2 (although the PS3 comes somewhat close). I agree though about those cinemas...WTF.
I'm not bothering with the demo because I don't want to have to replay shit in a couple of weeks. However, playing ME2 right now I sure as hell hope they fixed the cover system, which is kind of shit in 2.
Also, Insanity mode is freaking tedious.

I don't think the demo is supposed to read your saves.
And if anything, to me, the cover system feels worse than ME2.

You don't require much cover when playing as a vanguard, once you have levelled weapon training, you can carry an assault rifle and still have +170% recharge rate so you get your life saving power damn fast. An Vanguard works very well with an assault rifle, provides a long accurate attack and can shoot down anyone you hit with charge fast. Sometimes I feel like playing vanquish.

I just wonder if any 3rd title of the current console generation will manage to be anything other than disappointing. Gears 3 and Halo 3 added nothing new outside of "ZOMG! New Multiplayer modes!" - really, I need a little more than multiplayer innovations- for one I hate other people so have no desire to play with them I just hope this manages to dump the crappy planet scanning and you know- give a decent single player campaign.

Can't wait to try that in the main game. The SP demo sadly loads you down with the heaviest weapons available.
