Wind Waker wasn't as popular as Ocarina of Time. Besides, WW still looks good, OoT does not. If you want another WW, play Phantom Hourglass . Phantom Hourglass is pretty low on the list of good zeldas. It is definitely in no way something I want to recommend to fans of WW. Or the series as a whole.

Eerr, susan, that quote was from Rey actually.
Also, guyyyyys! Come on! I'm well aware of all that, and that all this is a business, and that the name alone would make OoT a million-seller on Tiger.com, but in this case it is not the business side of things I care about: it is my wants and wonts as a gamer, simple as that; and my wanting to see what the machine really has under the hood. As I said, CAPCOM, Konami and the never very exciting but technically proficient Tecmo shall do it just fine. It is simply that I fear the 3DS MAY be able to run gamecube games which will never be ported... Because of business rationales (which, I repeat, I perfectly understand like everyone else!). Aaand... Aaw who am I kidding? Of course I will buy it. Resident mercenaries is enough to convince me. I'm too old to marry so let's party! Love and hugs to all on this still fresh new year by the way.
And yeah, Phantom and Spirit Tracks are very discutable Zeldas. Still interesting (Phantom), but you can really live without them. Get Minnish Cap and see what CAPCOM did with the franchise for a change...

That's why I put a smilie face on my original post. It was supposed to be sarcastic. PH would be a great game if it wasn't for the awful Ocean King dungeon. And Minish Cap is not so good either.

I remember enjoying Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass. Didn't care much for Spirit Tracks though. This may also have something to do with the touchscreen on my DS not working so good. (I played Phantom Hourglass on my old DS, and Spirit Tracks on its replacement, with the dodgy touchscreen.)

All in all, like Rey said. I had blocked that mockery, that uselessly repetitive drivel that was this ever-repeating dungeon, from my memory. Bleuargh. But I liked Minnish Cap, though.
Aaaaanyway... So, this new Nintendo handheld thingie, all in all, pretty tempting, isn't it?

For what it's worth, the 3DS looks more than capable of handling a full-size, console quality Zelda title more along the lines of titles like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and if they develop a new adventure like that for the device ( Hopefully with less hand-holding bullshit... and while I'm having wild fantasies, I would like my own personal starship please) rather than continuing along the less interesting path they've taken with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, I will be a happy person I understand your desire to see a Wind Waker port... it really captures the adventerous spirit of the original Legend of Zelda, and definitely would make an awesome demonstration of the 3DS' visual prowess! Sadly, it's doubtful that will happen any time soon.

Maybe the could port WW with a few extra dungeons! (while we're wishing)
I'd honestly rather have WW portable than OoT.

I love Zelda, but I honestly have lost any hope for the series to change the bad things.
We'll still get those boring intro/tutorial levels. We'll still get items that only work in one dungeon. We'll still get a cliche'd story. We'll still have to leave a 500 rupee chest because the wallet is full and there's nothing worthy to spend the rupees on. And finally, we'll still have that Light/Dark World-type trope. Seriously, ALttP, OoT, the Oracle games, Twilight Princess and now Skyward Sword. Enough is enough Miyamoto/Aonuma.
Give me another meaningful story like the one from Link's Awakening or Majora's Mask.

It's amazing that I enjoyed Twilight Princess so much but then completely lost interest in Zelda after that. I guess it's because the DS games were so boring (and this is coming from somebody who loved Wind Waker).

Susan is right On! Right on the dream... A WW in finished form, without absurd fetch-quests in place of all those missing dungeons they never had the time to insert... Oh what a beauty it would be.
Aaaanyway, I'm still feeling the hype... I won't buy that Zelda because the whole game is getting old. But I feel there will be enough incentives to make us go mad. Not even counting Kid Icarus in the lot, the launch line-up seems stronger than the DS's. Again thinking about second/third party publishers here. Help us Konami, you are (one of) our only hope!

Didn't they find unfinished levels in the WW code?
