Supposedly Sony is going to unveil the PSP2 during Nintendo 3DS conference this week.
I will only speculate on one aspect of the design- it will have three screens. BELIEVE.

I sorta feel like I might be the only person on earth not ready for the next Gen of handhelds (and god forbid- new consoles!) just yet. Do I have to get held back 3 years doing catch up?

There are still people out there whose newest console is a PS1, I don't think you've got anything to be ashamed of.

I'm usually in no hurry myself, but the DS release calendar has really dried up. I'd be hurting for stuff to play if the PSP hadn't had this late spurt of activity. But with the general weakness of its library, I imagine I'll run out of stuff to play on it before much longer.

I'd say that current-gen consoles are definitely starting to look dated. Even so, I'm not looking forward to plunking down $400 or more on another piece of hardware just yet.

I love the PSP still and hope that it has a lot of life left in it yet. But I'm also pretty excited for the PSP2. I hope it's not TOO expensive though..

Although I have owned all the current gen systems, I still play my PS2 the most. I don't plan on buying a new console for a long time. If they kept making games for PS2 and Dreamcast, then I wouldn't even need to update.

Wireless controllers and backwards compatibility have pretty much ruined my ability to appreciate the older generations these days. Then again, I was just listening to Dracula Best 2 again today and thinking about how much I love Super Castlevania IV and how much Lords of Shadow sucks.

PSP2 can't happen till XSeed finishes localizing Sora no Kiseki and Zero no Kiseki. Not if there's any justice in the universe.

Tom probably can't comment, but I'm more or less expecting that if we ever see Zero no Kiseki (much less the forthcoming Zero no Kiseki sequel) it won't make it to brick and mortar retail. The PSP is nearly dead on brick and mortar shelves in the US already. Much less a year or two from now. I expect they'll either be forced to go totally digital, or (best case) digital + internet sales. Things will be that much worse if PSP2 isn't backwards compatible with UMDs. *Edited for clarity.

Food for thought:
Supposedly, this is going to be a slightly sub-PS3 tech level uberconvergence device. So, given the cost and relatively low battery life of the 3DS, what is this thing going to cost and is there any chance that the battery life won't be incredibly low?
