So is that screen actually twice the size of the PSP? It lists the display as 960 x 544 pixels, and according to Wikipedia the PSP has 480 × 272.

If they didn't keep the d-pad from the 3000, I am going to loose a howl of pain that will echo down through the centuries.

Andriasang says it's a 5 inch screen. The normal PSPs (except Go) are 4.3 inch. So it's a little bigger but much higher res.
Looks like it's got built-in 3G. I'm not signing a contract for this thing, and I'm not paying 20 bucks a month either. (To be clear, pricing hasn't been announced - these are just my guesses based on the current market in the US.)
Overall, the system looks expensive. OLED isn't cheap. 3G isn't cheap either. 3DS is launching at 250, so I'm guessing 300 minimum for NGP. Maybe more.
There are some things I like about it, but I don't see myself getting one anytime too soon. Of course, that goes for 3DS as well.
EDIT: On further consideration, given the prices of smartphones with inferior specs to this, 300 is probably far too conservative. We might be looking at 400 or 500. This is Sony.

That sounds about right. As cool as this looks, it's a bad idea jumping into this. After the bullshit with my 60gb PS3, I'm not going to pay to be a beta tester again.

Looks like there's a 3G version and a version without 3G. I know I'll be getting the non rape time payments version.

With the right analog stick (whose placement looks awkward as fuck), front touchscreen, rear touchpad, and Sixaxis motion controls on top of everything, this system's ending up even more gimmicky than the 3DS.
At least it isn't using UMD or any other disc-based format.

The right thumb stick looks extremely awkward, especially for someone with big hands or long fingers (like me.)

You may not have that choice.I'm hoping for (but not expecting) a USB UMD drive and backwards compatability. My guess though, is that if it plays PSP games at all, it will only be from PSN.

The right anaolgue stick placement is horrid. Lets hope the square button works from the get-go this time ;D

It would be nice if they moved the start and select buttons elsewhere and moved the right stick down just a tad. The sixaxis controls are retarded, because really, how many games will actually use them at all, let alone use them well? I actually like the rear touchpad idea, though. With the way handheld gadgets of all sorts work these days a touchscreen was inevitable, and with an additional rear touchpad at least I won't have to get my fingerprints all over that glorious, glorious screen.
I'm expecting the PSP2 to be pricey, but I love my PSP, so I'm hoping it will at least be in a range affordable for mere mortals.

Given the cost of the PS3 at launch, I wouldn't be surprised. Sony really likes loading up on costly tech.
