muteKi there will be no volume 2, only a 32x collection. Finally the world will be able to experience Shadow Squadron in full HD glory.

Yeah a Fail Collection. This could only possibly have 850 Achiement points I though 360 had to have 1000. Though The Watchmen Parts 1 and 2 only had 400 that was both insanely overpriced on XBLA.
Why is they very Few Xbla Collections that exists though?
The one with the most Games on is Namco Museum that can give you up to 1800g I belive the most any 360 game does without extra DLC. Though its a odd collection it is mostly games from the Ps2 version with the Remakes found on the Psp version (Well all of them Except the Rally X one) Yet games like Sky kid and Galaga 88 are on the Disc that was not on any other Collection.
THe most Common XBLA collection is the one that came with the old hardriveless Arcade units.
The other Microsoft XBLA collection XBLA unpluged never got past Volume 1 though probally did not help they picked really bad games on it either.
Then theres the Pop Cap ones that are America and Japan only and Region locked (Why? the contents avaible worldwide anyway) Europe is geting its own collection but is it not the same games.
Konami Classics vol 1 and 2 these are a rip offs if you bought them new since they sold for more than the games on them costed together. Also America only and Region Locked.
Only PSN collections that exist are both on PSP both sold poorly I doubt Puting on the Action pack the No local Multi Player Syphon Filter game helped sales meaning most could only play the other two games on the Disc.

Crazy Taxi was awesome, but I already have it for DC. That's really the only thing on here I'd actually want and I didn't love it enough to double dip.
If only Jet Grind/Set Radio was in it, THEN I'd double dip.

I think people are being too hard on this collection. This is a good deal for anybody who wants to play these games in HD. (although Get Bass probably isn't very fun without the controller.) It's by no means amazing, but I would love to see more downloadable games released on a disc like this, especially at a discounted price.

The game choices don't even really make sense. On what criteria were they chosen? I dunno - it's one thing for them to just throw random Dreamcast games up on Live. But to release a "Dreamcast Collection" on disc in such haphazard fashion is a disservice to the Dreamcast (may it rest in peace). Besides, there's no way you can have a definitive Dreamcast Collection without Seaman.

Honestly the choices make sense, as they cover a broad range of genres. You have an action platformer, a racer, a sports game, and a rhythm game. Really, these are probably some of the best known games for the system. I admit it's skimpy but odds are if they're even releasing this collection, they'll release another. However, the omission of Chu Chu Rocket is inexcusable.

I wonder if they'll redo Space Channel 5 Part 2.
As much as I love that game(I go by the Rhythm Rogue for a reason), it had a horrible localization. No lyrical flow whatsoever.

However, the omission of Chu Chu Rocket is inexcusable. I think I'm just comparing this to say, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection or something like that, and it's coming up seriously wanting. One thing I didn't consider previously though, is that a GD-ROM could hold a maximum of 1.2 gigs of data, so (barring any recompression or what have you) a dual-layer Xbox dvd could probably hold 5 to 6 games total. If the games have been tinkered with and have enhanced textures and such, they could be larger. So 4 might be all they could fit on one disk. I still think they could have picked better games, even limiting it to Sega's library. Sonic Adventure 2 would be preferable to 1 I think. And (Ike's opinion notwithstanding), they could replace Bass Fishing with just about anything. Jet Grind Radio or Chu Chu Rocket would probably be good choices. They're doing what they're doing though. Not like I'll be buying it anyway. I still have my Dreamcast.

I read in a recent Retro Gamer magazine (no. 83, I believe) about the release of a Master System collection for the PC in Europe. It's a budget title, but it only has a handful of games on there. The catch is, it's 'Volume 1' in an anticipated series of 3 or 4 compilation discs. The goal, I'm guessing, is to milk as much money as they can out of the nostalgic retro gamers and/or those younger gamers curious about old-school games.
I'm only speculating, but perhaps Sega's shooting for a similar strategy here with this Dreamcast collection? Maybe there really will be a second volume with 4 more games on it somewhere down the road? I can't really fault them for wanting to maximize their profits out of this (about time the Dreamcast earned Sega some money!), even if it is a bit of a raw deal for the fans who really want to own/play these games.
I also second the notion that DC games could occasionally be space hogs, so cramming more than 4 games onto a collection could be neigh impossible (unless they released this as a double-disc collection).

Fuck you guys, Sega Bass Fishing owns bones. In the arcade? Hells yes. At home on a keyboard/joypad? Nahhh...

I am sure that Sega isn't skimping on games due to lack of disk space. There are much, much better compression techniques now available (think about it... these games were released a more than a decade ago), and I don't think the games are running via emulation. I'm pretty sure they're all ports, so there's no reason compression can't be improved.
Crazy Taxi on XBLA is a 133 meg download. That's ONE of the FOUR games.
I know off the top of my head that Sonic Adventure is around 950 meg (with a 170-odd meg add-on that brings it up to date with the extras included in the GC version.)
That's not a lot of disk space. At all.
It's pure economics.
I agree with everyone who has said we are not being hard enough on this 'collection'.

It seems like you'd expect a slightly stronger showing for the first dreamcast compilation.

I know I am only echoing what many others have said...but the Dreamcast had such a damn strong lineup of games and for them to choose this lot...It is just a very, very mediocre showing.

Sky Kid and Galaga '88 were on Namco Museum 50th Anniversary first. But yeah, I gotta agree that, when it comes to classic game compilations on the 360, either Namco Museum Virtual Arcade or Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection are the way to go. Also, no Jet Set Radio =
