Relevant or not, Duke Nukem Forever is a day one purchase for me. Loved the old Duke Nukem 3D and I still think it's one of the best first-person shooters.

Does anyone remembers the older planes for live action movie adaptions? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Nukem_%28character%29#Proposed_feature_filmI remember this one that was planned at the late '90s. But I didn't know for the later plans. Think we will ever seen a live action movie based on Duke Nukem? Expecially since manly holywood movies like The Expectables are selling again now.

If you've never played Duke 3D though, you just need to do it at least once. Its a little piece of PC gaming history if you ask me. Piggybacking on that, if you have the option to do so, I would highly recommend both Duke it Out in DC and Duke Caribbean after completing Duke 3D. The Birth can be a bit shaky (the last boss battle in particular is far too drawn out since it has such a high amount of hit points and continuously spawns shit tons of enemies to attack you), but it's worth a look-see, too. Hopefully they'll do what they did with Duke Nukem 3D and include the previous games on the disc. I always thought that was so cool. Duke Nukem was a blast outside of that damned last level of the second episode. God, that jump.

/necro Penny Arcade on Duke NukemTycho also does a relevant news article which is worth a read. I do enjoy this comic as it continues to pit chauvinism/sexism VS extreme violence.

This is the last chance I'll get to do this, so... *TOSSES RANDOM AXE* Sorry, little in-joke I devised over tossing a random axe for every single time Duke Nukem Forever was joked about. I put a moratorium on it since the game is actually being made, but... well, this will hopefully be the last time I'll do it.

So I guess the May release schedule was too crowded and they wanted to ensure maximum exposure. That's all good. But International is coming out before the US version by 4 days? Who's dick do I have to suck to get my mittens on one of those international copies on the 10th? Because I need my fix. I need it post haste. Upside: I'm upgrading my computer primarily for this game, so an extra month gives me a little more leeway for video card prices to drop.

My theory is that in Europe and Japan games tend to drop on Fridays while in the US they usually drop on Tuesdays. (Unless you're Nintendo, in which case, Sunday.)
