Lots and lots of things to look into. Heh. I really appreciate the input. Jason X - I'll consider that offer for Batman, but the rest of my funds are going into the system itself. I've got plenty of stuff to trade, though. If you're interested, PM me.

Flower. Can't say that enough times to make it resonate with you enough. Darksiders (if you didn't catch it on 360). It's Zelda with God of War's fighting engine (only better). Both Uncharted games are fucking fantastic. If you want some good JRPGs, check out Resonance of Fate and Star Ocean. Trine is also a must-have if you own a PS3.

I'm as surprised as anyone, but I really enjoy FF13 so far.
If nothing else, my god is it beautiful. The combat's fun, and the story has my interest.
I don't despise any of the cast, either. No small feat for an FF game as of late.
Also, no Demon's Souls, no life.

I don't understand why Hope gets so much hate. He didn't wine more than necessary given the circumstances, and after he settles things with Snow, he doesn't wine anymore, and he's the best Ravager in the game until you sink your teeth into the postgame.
Vanille on the other hand... yeah... there's no excuse for her.

Vanille's accent makes Paul Hogan seem affable.

OPERATION: NORA Hope wasn't as annoying as Snow or Vanille, but his presence in the storyline is extreeeeeemely tenuous. He's travelling with them just so he can tell Snow off? OK then!

Hey, if we're going to knock FF chars for their motivations, we can do that with just about every game in the series. Even the classics had chars joining you because you fed them beef jerky.
Going back to the topic, Explodemon just came out on PSN. Give it a whirl.

The only member of the cast who annoys me is Vanille.

I find the whole "zomg Vanille and Fang are teh LESB1oNiCs!" to be annoying, in and of itself.

Not to drag things down, Bean, but Darksiders is much closer to Devil May Cry than God of War. You've got a huge sword instead of a blade on a chain, not to mention a gun. And the one chain you get is far closer to the Hookshot.
Anyway, seconding Flower there. Batman is the best licensed game since Astro Boy on the GBA. Demon's Souls is indeed the best game. Both Little Big Planet games are God Tier. The upcoming Bulletstorm is hopefully going to redefine the FPS genre. Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best-designed strategy games I've played...
Damn, there's just too much good on the PS3.

Darksiders combat mainly felt like DMC because of all your mobility options and dashes and such, but if you used the Scythe a lot, then the game started to feel a lot more like GoW because of all your huge radial attacks. The pistol was quite useless (or at least felt like it in comparison to the Crossblade) like Ebony and Ivory, though, so there's that similarity too. In retrospect it was kind of a blend of the two games, in my opinion.
Man I loved Darksiders.

The way the character moves and the way combat works in Darksiders is much more reminiscent of GoW than DMC. The weapon may not be a chain blade, but the flow of combat is incredibly similar.
