What on earth happened to this place? I look at it now, and all I can think is "tiny bubbles".

Drumble had been planning this for some time. Still no review feature though. Coming soon my ass.

And still no alternative region setting.

I certainly like what they've done, but the fact that there seem to be none of the features that were always tagged as "coming soon" is slightly disappointing.

And still no alternative region setting. I'm pretty sure you can set your region to PAL or Japan by default. I think kimmimi's is like that.

And still no alternative region setting. I'm pretty sure you can set your region to PAL or Japan by default. I think kimmimi's is like that. I think what derboo means is that there are no regions outside of North America, Japan or PAL. So you can't list a game as being Korean or Chinese or whatnot. Anyways, I don't really like this redesign. There's one improvement I've noticed, which is that games that are part of a collection are now hidden (and toggleable), so you can go through a PS2 collection for instance without seeing a bunch of arcade games inside one compilation cluttering up the list. However I really hate the "Show more games" button that appears at the bottom of any list with more than 50 games. I should be able to see every single game in my list simply by scrolling down. Backloggery isn't exactly a graphically intensive site (which I consider a good thing), so it shouldn't only load a few games at a time, and force me to click "Show more games" over and over and over again in order to see everything. That's a huge pain in the ass, and is one of the reasons I stopped using IGN's collection feature in favor of Backloggery in the first place. All of my games should be viewable on a single page if I so choose to do so.

The redesigns are directed more towards making it a social website, I think.
I do like that it shows a currently playing game listed under a collection, i.e. Growlanser Generations - Growlanser II.

Where are the console icons? Also, I want to able to display my entire list of games at once. Server strain be damned.

I really like the new design. Just wish the review text wasn't still "coming soon."

Drumble's stated repeatedly since the site opened that his goal was to make a social website for gamers. That's nothing new.
Still reeeeeeeally wish they'd add reviews.

The update is to alleviate server strain. That's why registrations closed, and why you only see 50 games at a time, etc. It might be hard to understand if you don't run a website, but they are legitimate and common concerns.
I was also expecting some more meatier changes, but remember this is probably just one guy coding.

I kind of miss the old console buttons, myself. It makes me feel like now they've lost their sense of identities and the only thing you can go by is their names... it's a minor thing, but it was something I rather liked. I also sort of liked my lists being a nice, condensed little list of games with the old look. But, eh, I'll live with it, I guess.
Also, I could care less if that reviews feature makes it in the end. If Drumble reconsiders and takes it down, it's not going to be a loss to the site at all.

Planned features and stuff in the making can be dropped, though, can't it? I just figured it's kind of the same thing.
