That's actually a good question. I'm wondering if the number of profiles is limited or you can only have one. That's one thing I hate so much about many DS games. Thank God for AKAIO's multiple save slot function. feynman: You're right. The present day Capcom is NOTHING at all like the one we knew and loved. The only good stuff that came out of them recently was Dead Rising 2, and even then that one wasn't as great as the first (mainly because it's shorter, especially Overtime mode) Also, speaking of Platinum, I gotta try out Vanquish someday. Or simply go to my friend's house and play the demo on his PS3.

I think I'd need more info before passing judgment First, can anyone confirm that there's no "New Game" feature once you save a game? A lot of games don't let you delete save data so that's nothing new. Even if there's only a New Game +, as long as it doesn't force you to use items, that seems cumbersome but still fair.
If the game only saves scores and unlockables, that's an annoyance but not huge since you still have the game to play. If it prevents you from replaying or re-viewing story sequences though (like an RPG that only lets you start a new game once), then that's really messed up.

Also, speaking of Platinum, I gotta try out Vanquish someday. Or simply go to my friend's house and play the demo on his PS3. It's pretty disappointingly mediocre :/ Game looks beautiful, but the upgrade and scoring system (which are very integral to the game) are absolute fucking rubbish and aside from a scant few brilliant scenes, the game is almost entirely just a substandard cover shooter. The demo will also make you believe the game is much better than it actually is and falsely portrays how absurdly shitty the upgrade system is. Don't listen to Japanophiles on this one, it's seriously a pretty crappy game. You'd be much better off getting Shadows of the Damned, if you're looking for another TPS Mikami had a part in. Fucking great game, that one is.

Most of the innovtors have left Capcom but it does'nt mean there wont be future talent working there, or maybe they'll just start at platinum instead.

The title makes it easy to skip by, though. The demo will also make you believe the game is much better than it actually is You mean it's even worse than the demo? Holy shit. I think there were actually two demos for Vanquish... the first one seemed really rad when I played Honestly, the first part of the game (where the demo is from) is as good as the game gets.

From what I saw, I think the biggest problem was tying the health bar to your super powers, and also making melee completely drain the bar. Instead of encouraging the player to rocket slide around, shooting everything in ridiculously stylish fashion, you're just encouraged to do nothing dangerous and hide behind walls unless the enemy is capable of destroying cover.

Holy fuck, they couldn't come up with a better reason than that? If they're going to lie to us, they could at least try and make it sound convincing.

That excuse is nearly as crap as Nintendo's so called reasons for Region locking the 3DS. They is no delete save in another 3DS game as well it's in the Super Monkey Ball game. The 3ds makes me want it less every day only thing I might buy one for is the next Real Pokemon game thats it.

@ Vanquish
- Shit upgrade system # I never really had a problem with this. If you focus on using different weapons for appropriate situations without switching through too randomly, and use the reload of Upgrades to your advantage, all of your weapons should be maxed by mid fourth act.
- Not encouraged to enter dangerous situations # Using the boost and dodge in conjunction with each other and meleeing either when you're sure it's safe to or it gives you some other advantage (height, eliminating the deadliest enemy) sort of eliminates this, too, for me.
I can anticipate the counter to this: a game that forces you to play a certain way must be pretty shit. And usually that'd be right, but the more dissenting opinions I hear the more I think players are trying to think of Vanquish as a TPS that's comparable to GoW just because it has cover and an over-the-shoulder camera. It's not really meant to be played like that kind of game, I don't think.
Two cents from a lurker. Also, I'm trying to remain optimistic about this Mercenaries situation (it is, after all, a pretty arcade-esque experience and saves shouldn't matter as much as playability and entertainment value, which for this game I've also been having my doubts), but taking the right to start over from a player is kind of shitfaced.

The 3ds makes me want it less every day only thing I might buy one for is the next Real Pokemon game thats it. But what's saved on Super Monkey Ball? High scores and which levels are unlocked. I don't see how that makes it worth less secondhand or even less worth buying in the first place. Now, the fact that it's a rather short game compared to some of the other entries in the series I HAVE heard and can understand, but won't necessarily agree with until I have a copy of my own. I wonder how much a used copy goes for...

I haven't played RE Mercenaries 3D yet, so correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the characters have slots for unlockable power-ups that make the game easier. It's annoying that you can't unlock things a second time, but I think people should be much more upset that they made a skill-based game that gradually gets easier and renders your earlier scores obsolete!
