Wesker was one of the most popular fighters in MVC3. Seems everybody had at least one of Wesker, Deadpool, Dante or Hulk. That aside, Ryu and Akuma are the basic playstyles, more or less. Simple moves, easy to learn, and they work. If you have trouble picking a 3rd fighter, you really can't go wrong with them. At least untill you figure out what team your best with.

So how does everyone feel about Wolvie, Chris, and Arthur; nerf and buff-wise that is? I'm curious how they feel to you guys now? These are my mains in MvC3.

I fucking loved Wolverine until they nerfed his dive kick. Don't care much about Chris, and Arthur's style confuses and frightens me.

So how does everyone feel about Wolvie, Chris, and Arthur; nerf and buff-wise that is? If it means anything, I played 20 matches online tonight and only 1 person was using Wolverine. Not sure if that's due to new character syndrome or if people saw he got nerfed.

His broken-ass dive kick got its hitbox shortened significantly so he can't fly 10 feet above you and still somehow graze the back of your head.

I thing the real wolvie nerf is removing berserker slash invunerability, i won countless fights with him as an anchor by pure spamming of it into berserker barrage x xfc berserker barrage.

I dunno if it was the lag but the guy I played with today somehow wasn't an aerial combo spamming maniac and I actually lost twice to timeout. Not bad for my second time.
Also added 9inchsamurai. Feel free to grab my IM info and catch me online if I'm not on PSN.

Akuma is my 3rd man in my team of him Spidey and Zero. You can't go wrong with Akuma's spinning kick.

Okay so I got into a lobby last night with some people and the network connection was downright perfect, which is a good sign because when I was playing ranked matches they were all only so-so. I've definitely learned a good bit about this series just by playing online - I never really played MvC2 with other people and only played vanilla a little bit online.
It seems the biggest barrier of entry to these games is figuring out how not to die in 5 seconds, which makes sense given how combo focused they are and the fact that if you know what you're doing you can kill (or almost kill) most characters from full health once you manage to hit confirm into anything. The reason this is such a difficult barrier for people to break through is because if you don't pay attention to what you're getting hit from, you might just give up and assume you lost due to something you couldn't have really avoided, when it reality it's because people have gotten really good at creating tough situations to avoid. It's a really interesting switch going from something more traditional like Street Fighter or King of Fighters to a game like this, because IMO controlling space and using offense as a good defense is probably even more important in this game than other fighters (cause you'll most likely almost die if they hit you).

HnH is versus AI only. What hell, Capcom. It have online player vs player. Sadly, this still means no tournaments unless they fake it somehow.

While searching to see if they'd replaced Magneto's alt costume with something else after it being cancelled I discovered this. Link - youtu.be/HTXGsrmJONg Apparently, all the DLC alt costumes are on the disc on this game. But are easily playable using this glitch if one has already bought a costume pack. It's the only way to see the cancelled Magneto costume in action, since it's never going to be released. Kinda sad the complete costume pack goes on sale this week.
