I can't say I would be too devastated if we never heard from Darkstalkers again- I always found it a bit random when it came to animations- sure some of the character designs were awesome but half the time I found it difficult to make sense of what was even supposed to be happening. It was never the biggest franchise ever so I'd say they would be less likely to give this the SF4 treatment but hey, I've been wrong a lot recently...

I'd still like for this to happen one day. According to the info of the time, Sammy was mostly the company in charge of this crossover, and though they stated that they wanted to bring in more characters from other games other then fighting ones, they also seemed to want to mainly feature Darkstalkers characters on the Capcom roster to balance the "theme" of the dominant Guilty Gear side of the Sammy roster. Now and days I guess it'd be AKSYS vs Capcom

Yeah I'm still very sad that that project never came to fruition.

It smells like "More Darkstalkers characters for Street Fighter Vs Tekken". If the original producer of Street Fighter IV (the same one who was responsible for Megaman Legends 3 project before leaving Capcom) was still at Capcom then there would be more possibilities since he wished for a new Darkstalkers game.
