Out of curiosity, how many people didn't follow the rules?

There's a lot of entries where I needed to clean up the formatting to make them compliant, but the larger problem is getting game titles/track names consistent, which really isn't anybody's fault. I'm going to have to take a fine comb through all of the Sonic CD entries too.
Plus Excel has a nasty problem when comparing cells - sometimes even when they're identical, there's some invisible element that's causing them to not tally correctly, so I need to hunt those down and copy/paste the entries over one another. There's a lot of manual work involved, and one of the reasons why I've been doing this weekly - just for practice when the final entries come along.
The reason why I need the entries formatted like I do is because I copy them into a text file, then import it into Excel, using the commas as delimeters to separate them into columns. So if you're using dashes, or put them in the wrong order, or putting things in brackets, or numbering them, then I need to copy them into another workbook to fix them up. At this point I'm not expecting anyone to go back and correct their entries, but everyone please going forward remember to format them per the instructions in the OP! Even just doing this tally took a few hours of work, and it's still not particularly accurate.

One problem I've noticed is that some song names have commas in them. Not sure how to fix that.
Were there any surprises in the nominations for you?

No getting around that one. Same problem with dashes. Those aren't a big deal to fix up, though, just some column shifting.
I knew people loved the Dr. Wily theme from MM2, but had no idea it would be scoring so high. It's cool to something really obscure like Umineko no Naku Koro ni rank so highly too. Wicked Child has a lot of love, considering it's one of the few songs from the first Castlevania that's not remixed all that often. And I barely have any idea what Gods Easter Burst is other than seeing it on the PSP shelves, but people seem to like its music!

Yeah, Umineko is taking names. It deserves to, game has some incredible music. Added 999's Morphogenetic Sorrow and (reluctantly) took out Ar Tonelico's Brave Beat.
And Gods Eater Burst is Squeenix's Monster Hunter clone, gone anime ish. I hear it's pretty good.

PC88 was the original platform, I think? Is this the Theme of Adol you're looking for? For the TG-16 version, it's used in the opening cinema after the bit with the narration: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TgoTm0fXBMSorry about the late response, but that was the track I was looking for. Thank you!

Question for those who have the Front Mission 4 ost. The music that plays during Elsa's campaign that shows up when they show the Durandal traveling to the next storyline location, does anyone know what that's called? It sounds like a marching band battlefield song.

No love for Mexican Flyer? Que lastima. It sounds like Discoalucard will allow Mexican Flyer, since I doubt anybody here knew about it before they played Space Channel 5, but the version on the title screen is actually ripped straight from Ken Woodman's 1966 album "That's Nice." I deliberately left out Mexican Flyer (and the derivative first level music and the support chant from the end) because I originally interpreted it as disqualified. I think I'll go back and add "Evila - Attack of the Perfect Reporter" to my list. (Half of the samples in that one are backwards, so that makes it a fairly original work in my mind.) Space Channel 5 has one of the best video game soundtracks ever; it probably isn't getting many votes because a lot of the best tracks fall into a gray area of eligibility.

The Stage 1 version is fine. The title screen version shouldn't count, though.

Do you have a better idea (roughly) of how many songs are going to be on this now? Did a bit more work on the spreadsheet...I haven't added anything since the last tally last week (there haven't been too many votes) but if the minimum number of points to make the list is 3, then the total count will be approximately 500. That could potentially increase depending on how many people vote at the last minute, but it definitely won't go below 400, even at this point.
