Still in just Chapter 1, but it amuses me greatly right now that my hardest-hitting party member is Ringabel with the Merchant job, armed with the Sage Staff and using the Knight's Two-Handed ability.

So I think I'm finished with this one. Got about 30 hours on it so far and just hit chapter 5. Peeked ahead at a guide and really didn't like what I saw coming up. Three more chapters of repeatedly reawakening the crystals and fighting the same boss fights with increasing difficulty? Ehhhhh. No thank you. Enjoyed what I played so far but I'm quickly burning out. Last few chapters look like padding more than anything else. Disappointing. Yup. Feel like its time to be movin on to different pastures.

I'm still near the beginning, just got Edea. I've only gotten one Spotpass at the airport so far, hoping I'll have luck on my flight back today.
I like the game so far. Is there any real benefit to Bravely Second or is it a method to dupe people into microtransactions?

You get one charge for every 8 hours in sleep mode (as the characters oh so helpfully remind you while acting in Bravely Second) and those instant turns can really save your bacon in a boss fight. I can't imagine spending money on them though.

The Bravely Seconds are completely useless unless you're new to JRPGs, I used them only once against the final boss because I wanted to finish him more quickly.

There's one advantage I can think of; if you're grinding for Job Points, and the enemy gets the first strike, you could always use it to interrupt their turn so they don't get in an attack and don't break your "Unscathed" chain.
Anyway, I'm at Chapter 3, and am taking a brief break to get everyone's jobs to at least level 9.

Bravely Second is also the only time you can break the damage limit, for what it's worth.

10 hours in! This game is great! I think the only aspect of it that's weak is the music. The graphics are great, and the job system is as solid as ever. The story is much better than I thought it'd be. I was not expecting the little dark storyline for grabbing the summoner class.

I'm about 40 hours in but only at Chapter 4 because I just enjoy fucking around with random battles. So far I'm getting my ass handed to me by these dragon optional bosses using my regular tactics, so I need to do some planning.

Ugh, those dragons. After getting my ass handed to me several times I decided to do that subquest after the Earth Crystal, using knowledge from my Friends list to plan what abilities to learn. Getting healed instead of getting slaughtered by those breath attacks felt so good.
I quite liked the music in this game, except I've been spoiled by most RPGs these days having different tracks for almost every dungeon.

Yea - I did alright against the earth dragon, considering, but it's one of those things where you almost need to die, then try again just to have a chance (unless you're using a guide), since you don't really know which element goes with which stone thingy. At least as far as I know...

I'm still on chapter 3, on account of wanting to get all my Jobs up to par (usually level 9, since the EXP needed inflates drastically after that), and the enemies here give good EXP. My party is actually in the 60s right now...
...Also, Ringabel ended up leveling up enough as a Merchant to get the Big Pharma skill, and I was able to start a loop that gave me close to a million pg in just an hour. Now I'm pulling in double EXP and JP!

At least as far as I know... If I recall, the dragon's element roughly corresponds to the region's crystal. Which leaves the light and dark dragons, but I guess one could associate the Great Chasm with darkness, and Vestals with light. Of course, I only realized that after I had already beaten them.
