Nah, I was exposed to Sailor Moon first, but it didn't grab me like CCS did. At that point the last season of the SM anime was finished and the series had pretty much run its course in Japan, but it was still widely popular in the US and new stuff was continuing to get localized/bootlegged.

Not fond of games where most of the action/story takes place within a MMO. I believe that's the reason why I could never get into the Dot Hack games, everything just looks so boring in the game in contrast to the anime.

I have zero interest in pretty much any "war" themed game. So, things like Call of Duty, and Metal of Honor. At first I thought it was that I didn't like FPS. But then I played Fallout 3 (yes I know not really an FPS) and I was like this isn't so bad. And then I went back to play Half-life 2 and Bioshock and I was like oh yeah this isn't bad at all. The only war-themed games I enjoy are retro arcade games like Metal Slug and Shock Troopers. As about modern war-themed FPS, while I have never played Team Fortress 2 I like it for its unusual, cartoonistic, humoristic style which is a first rate material for video parodies on YouTube.

I've even tried Advanced Wars. I can get into those types of games when they are fantasy but I just couldn't get into those.

Also, AW is really in a different genre than Fire Emblem et al. The former is pure strategy, the latter is role-playing strategy.

I still have yet to really play any of that series. Own a bunch of them, just never got around to them.

I've tried Fire Emblem a few times but I never liked how you could end up in a spot and permanently lose a character. It drove me nuts. My friend once said it made the game more "realistic." I was like realism has nothing to do in a game where you can ride around on the battle field on a wyvern. It seems in the newest one there is an option you can choose to turn off the perma-death. But I already have so many other games to play at this point.
