Completely fail to see what's wrong with this character. She isn't anything special, for good or bad.

and that they were working on a character for the NA audiences that is muscular and "skinhead" (really?). Why is a british youth culture being used as a US exclusive Will he carry a sharpend steel comb, umbrella with a sharpend tip or a millwill brick as weapon?

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing a fighter character that fights with bricks. It'd be a hell of a lot more imaginative than Yet Another Karate Man.

Or how about a brick in a sock? Great emergency club.

Does this even qualify as a controversy though? A bunch of users on an internet forum complain that a new fighting game character looks stupid, producer makes obvious joke on Twitter about removing it from NA version of the game. Originally it sounded like standard internet whinging, only reason it seems to have blown up is so morons can continue living their fantasy that SJWs are ruining video gaming. I don't know about SJWs ruining the video games industry in the western market (the sure is that Japan doesn't gives a damn about a tiny minority outside their country that don't even play video games except from their glorious, artistic indie video games that aren't meant for filty casuals who only care about rehashes like Super Mario and Call of Duty) but you can't deny that they ruin the video games journalism and the indie gaming scene.

Is there a difference between "sexy" and "sexist"? The SJW make it out to be like no woman wants to dress in skimpy, revealing clothing. I get that those sorts of women are put into pop culture a lot, and yes, I do in fact hate when males are the only ones to get heavy armor, but to completely remove the concept is a little bit much. I suggest not removing the character as much as making her more subtle.
Good character design means adding "flaws" to your character to make them realistic. However, there is a flip-side to that. Making every female a skank is not realistic.

So it isn't about people offended is about people being xenophobic? is her "too japanese"? I'm not trying to start a flamewar I'm honestly curious why a character is dumb when the next it's a fucking farting bear.

At first I thought it was due to her cat paws and ears, for the vocal "furry" hate. I don't know. These cute age stuff falls a grey area for SJW to tackle.

Special interests and their self-appointed champions ruin everything, so by extension that would include video game journalism and video games.
Although to be fair, there's lots of other assholes ruining video games. Take for instance the censorship on WWE2k15; why put in the photo create-a-wrestler feature if people can't make Chris Benoit? I mean sure, the guy killed his wife and his kid before hanging himself with a lat pulldown machine, but c'mon...

After that sex tape with Hulk surfaced, I'm surprised anyone would want to play as him, either.

After that sex tape with Hulk surfaced, I'm surprised anyone would want to play as him, either. I would have expected more trouble from people uploading pictures of their dongs or something. But then you'd just get something that looked like Scott Steiner. BTW fun fact, apparently the dick pics thing was the impetus for the Journey arcade game - Bally Midway was going to have something similar with the digitized faces but using a camera on the machine to take a picture of your face, but people did exactly what you'd expect them to do with it. Anyway they just re-purposed it as the Journey game.

-- Is there a difference between "sexy" and "sexist"? Well you already aswered your own question, there's nothing wrong with a character being sexually attractive or sexualized (cf Bayonetta or Skullgirls), however, having every female characters being a personified fetish (and generally without agency of their own) while male characters are more diverse is lazy on top of being kinda sexist.
