Out of curiosity, anyone else bothering? I'm just about done, I got to Platinum but I'm worried I won't have enough for the decent prizes (if any), and if I'll even have a chance against all the scalpers out there. Did they even say that they're offering better stuff to Platinum members during this final promotion? I haven't bought anything Nintendo-related in a while, so I'm not too concerned. Been sitting on around 1500 coins for ages. Nah, they give you a game download apparently. Gold doesn't get shit (which bothers me a lot, since the prize they're giving out this time is digital and technically only costs them a minimal amount). I'm trying not to get my hopes up on the physical goods either; like you said it's either going to be shit, or scalpers/fanboys will pounce and grab everything, or both. At the very least I hope that Nintendo continues to do promotions like the free game to Mario Kart 8 purchasers, or the credit for buying SMT4/Fire Emblem: Awakening, or the Smash Brothers Soundtrack. If they continue doing those promotions then I don't think I'll mind the passing of Club Nintendo as much.

Oh yeah the "buy a game new, get $30 on your account" thing was awesome, same with Mario Kart 8's deal. I'm really curious to see what they have in mind here. I do think they're going to have some kind of digital rewards thing like what was going on with the launch deluxe model Wiis. Not necessarily an incredible deal but it ended January 1st, and the last chance to use your points to redeem is in March, so it sorta coincides with them killing Club Nintendo for a new thing. I have to be honest about the physical goods though, besides the soundtrack cds they weren't particularly cool things. The only other physical awards I liked were the two Game and Watch collections. A lot of uncommon DS games like those and Eleetroplankton are relatively cheap now anyway though compared to the $70+ they were going for closer to release.

They updated the site today. And then quickly crashed it as waves of people tried to claim rewards. Looks like the physical highlights are a Majora's Mask messenger bag, a MM puzzle, and a Mario shirt. Ton of games up for download too. All first party games from the looks of it and mostly Zelda and Mario at that.
Guess I'll finally pick up Earthbound then.
Edit: And slightly beaten to the punch.

I can finally pick up Doc Louis Punch Out. Too bad they didn't add that Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition though.
Site is getting hammered, that's why it's been down so much.

Yeah, it's getting kind of frustrating. I mainly want to get the Animal Crossing playing cards as a gift for my mom, she loves those games.

Wish I had the money to earn more coins - I got Platinum, but I'm down to ~225 from all the monthly download offers.
This is the first year that I've ever wanted to get one of their calendars - it looks so nice and stylish...
At least I've got the soundtrack/Mewtwo/Flipnote offers to look forward to.

Mario looks like a total asshole on that "Sorry!" page you invariably get because it's too busy.

I know right? When did Mario start looking so punchable?
EDIT: Just got in. Looks like I'm 110 points away from platinum. I"m thinking either Kid Icarus, StarFox 64, or DKC Returns for the 3DS which sit at 700, or Metroid 2, Super Mario Land, and Super Mario Land 2, that are 150. Probably, go with the cheaper ones. If I spend coins does that lower my amount from reaching Platinum? Or are the coins I use still counted. Figured the surveys on whatever free games I get might bump me up to platinum. Aww, didn't even see the Wii-U games. Now I'm even more indecisive.

I'm wondering if the last showing for the Australia store is done now, there's no digital rewards outside of ringtones/backgrounds (or playing cards and other interesting physical rewards etc). If this is it I'm glad Nintendo is putting a bullet to the service because it's a waste of time here.

Amazing game in all aspects, even though the controls may take some time to get used to.

My friend has it so I can just borrow that and most of the full price games off of him. That being said reached platinum status today, thanks to the help of others. And now that I've got 150 coins and more probably incoming I'm wondering what else I should grab. Also, disappointed that alot of the Wii U VC titles for the Mario series are ports from the NES games and not Super Mario All-Stars. Almost made the mistake with Super Mario Bros 2 & 3, as well as Yoshi's Island.

Anyone else actually prefer the NES originals over All Stars? I used to like the redone versions more back when that release first came out, but I've come to appreciate the first versions more as time has gone by.
