Ugh.. the footstep sound effect..... Capcom did it in Maverick Hunter for PSP too and I hated it so much. Completely unnecessary and annoying.

So five days to go and they're not giving up yet. They've released a prototype, a proof-of-concept, a mockup or whatever you wanna call it. You can download it free on their Kickstarter page.Hoo boy. Its not convincing. Its more like "HEY REMEMBER WHEN YOU COULD KICK CANS IN MEGAMAN LEGENDS?!" Well. That looks like shit. Not saying it can't turn into a good game, but I can't see how showing off something that rough can do anything but hurt them. It looks like some bad fan game where somebody tried to recreate that main road with all the shops leading into Kattelox's city.

LinkTurns out they're getting funding from FUZE anyway, making the whole Kickstarter pointless.

<facepalm>
I'm getting the feeling Japan just doesn't quite "get" Kickstarters.
...Correction: Little Witch Academy Kickstarted itself just fine and smooth. Japanese GAME DEVELOPERS, on the other hand, seem to be having mondo awkwardness figuring it out.

Uh, okay then. Well, I'm glad it'll be made into a full game and available on consoles. I gotta get a PS4 for Star Ocean 5 eventually, so I guess I'll get it on that (hopefully hard copies will be available). I have confidence that it'll be at least moderately fun when it's finished, but this whole Kickstarter campaign has been nothing but a debacle and I think they would've been better off had they not done it and just looked for a publisher in the first place.

LinkTurns out they're getting funding from FUZE anyway, making the whole Kickstarter pointless. Also, on reading the comments on the Kickstarter page The fuck is wrong with these people? Are they so desperately thirsty for a new Megaman Legends game that they throw money to this snakeoil salesman even when he just said that he just got tons of money? Does pile of money just magically attract more piles of money? Should I be like "Hey Bethesda, I know you're pretty much done with Fallout 4, but here's a fifty. Go buy lunch to make the Q&A team to actually do their work this time"? There's also irony that a bootleg Megaman game is being funded by a Chinese company.

How is this at all surprizing? Didn't the whole Shenmue controversy let the cat out of the bag on Kicksarter being used as an interest guager?
I think a lot of people wised up and that's why donations were as anemic as they were. A physical copy is the only sensible incentive KS offers and here it's pretty exorbitant for non-diehards.
Not mention the sequel fatigue before the seminal game is out!

I've already said it on tumblr, I've already said it on the chat, I'm gonna say it again, that running animation is reminding me a lot of the fucking Charlie's Angels game on GameCube, it's uncanny. I guess Beck is secretly Cameron Diaz? All we need now is for him to be wearing a bikini for no reason at all and have an idle animation where he shakes his ass and hey, it's just like that game!

I'm sure it was already said, but Kamiya was right about Inafune, "He's a businessman, not a creator"
To me Infaune has really burned the good will of his fans, and maybe he shouldn't have posed of half of Japan with his statements on he state of its industry. Sure it's not anywhere near what it once was, but I don't think crapping all over your industry will get you much attention when you come knocking on the door for a job.

How is this at all surprizing? Didn't the whole Shenmue controversy let the cat out of the bag on Kicksarter being used as an interest guager? THANK YOU. And all this fuckery is just going to hurt indie studios trying to get full funding on Kickstarter because you just know there's going to be thousands upon thousands of these chucklefucks running around saying "BUT DEY MADE TIS GARME FOR DIS MUCH HURR HURR HURR" without realizing there was other funding and Kickstarter was more like a drop in the bucket. I mean, there are reports that these studios are getting funding from other sources, but lord knows their Kickstarter campaigns will barely mention it, if mention it at all. The Yookie-Laylee KS only mentioned that the studio had already invested a ton of their own money, far more than what they were originally asking for, before starting the campaign at the very bottom on the Q&A. I'm just amazed they actually mentioned it instead of tugging everyone's nuts around and making them feel like they're doing more than just being an interest poll with votes given by dollars. It's just all so disgusting.

That tech demo looks like shit. Not just in terms of technical aspects, but the main character's model looks like a PS1 Tomb Raider clone's heroine in terms of proportions. Make the guy a bit bulkier, goddamn.
Fuze is just gonna finance 8 hours of content, though, which, in JRPG terms, is nothing.
At least Mighty No 9 is looking pretty entertaining.

It's not an RPG, though. Most people beat Mega Man Legends in like 10 or so hours. Mega Man Legends 2 in like 15-20. So compared to the first MML, the predicted length of Red Ash is in the same ballpark. In fact, a lot of people can beat the first MML in less than 8 hours.

There's a speedrun video of the first stage of Mighty No. 9. It's...not pretty.
This looks like something you would have found on XBLA ca. 2009. How the HELL did this cost $4 million?

It's easy to think that 4 million is a lot of money but it really isn't. So yeah, it looks very simplistic but it's being ported to a lot of consoles, and the marketing and backer rewards were also included in that budget. Dunno, seems about right IMO.
Game looks really dry though. I think it looks fun but it lacks any kind of wow factor. I expected to see HUGE enemies, like those found in some MM games, or more set pieces. This is waaay simple. But probably fun.
I'd say the 3DS version will probably be my choice cause if this speed run is PC or PS4 I don't see a point to own the "best" version. It will probably look more impressive and fitting on the 3DS.
