Yeah, that's why I opted for the original model, even though the slim had already been announced when I got my Vita. I just wish it wasn't painful on my wrists after a while.

I'll take the heavier model any day if it means an OLED screen. The LCD screen on the slim is just pitiful! The OLED in the Vita is godly. I've seen an OLED Vita and an LCD Vita side by side, displaying the same game. There was no comparison IMO. The OLED pissed all over the LCD. But still, any Vita's a good Vita as long as somebody's playing it. Vita is life!

I have not played it for extented periods, but I do like the handling of the PSP a lot, while still prefering the 3DS for the sole reason of clamshell design. Dirt and nudges on my screens slowly kill me inside.
Also, I never have them in my pants pockets. Besides them not fitting in there (hey, I'm not staying lean for no one to see it, you guys!) I'd also be way too affraid of something happening to it.

OLED people you're cruel. Because if i ever go buy Vita, i won't go for used one. So i ll go for slim (and it has better ergonomics, ive been told).

You must try to find an unused OLED Vita. Some shops must still have a stock, and I'm sure you can find people who never used theirs, on e-bay. Essentially, fight for that OLED screen. It really is that much better.

OLED people you're cruel. Because if i ever go buy Vita, i won't go for used one. So i ll go for slim (and it has better ergonomics, ive been told). You can still buy a brand new OLED Vita off Amazon. For $269.00. www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-3G-Wi-Fi-Bundle/dp/B0071NH8B8/ref=sr_1_9?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1444395218&sr=1-9&keywords=vitaIMO the OLED Vita is worth $269.00, considering its robust library. If anyone reading this wants the OLED version, pony up the cash. Waiting any longer isn't going to make this model of the device any cheaper. Buy hey maybe you'll get lucky and find a nice used one at a pawn shop or swap meet, who knows. - I'm still thinking about the original question this thread asked. I have a hard time deciding, because I own a lot of portables and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Overall I want to lean towards the Vita, considering its capabilities and dual analog sticks. But the thing is pretty big, big enough that its only kinda-portable in any ergonomic sense. The PSP is another portable I truly love, but its Achilles' heel is that damned analog nub, which personally I have never found to be ideal. So overall I'm going to have to say the DS Lite gets my vote as the ultimate portable design. But that's only because I love adventure games and JRPGs, which the DS Lite's structure excels at. The DS Lite really isn't ideal for say third person action games or first person shooters. So someone with a desire for those genres would be better off with a Vita or PSP. Regardless the DS Lite folds up nice and clean and easily fits in a shirt pocket, it is quite portable indeed.

I think that the Vita, with its perfectly rounded edges, is really comfortable, more than the Nintendo machines currently available - without taking the weight into account... The PSP has very good ergonomics, too.

Putting the weight aside, I agree with ya. In terms of design, my only beef with the Vita is I have to put it down more frequently than others, due to my hands falling asleep and not wanting to get carpel tunnel. XD
I'm tellin' ya, you can't beat the Lite. It's soft as a newborn, yet I can still play how I wish for as long as I want with little fear of damaging the system or myself... really wish they'd make a new 3DS XL that feels like a Lite, though it may have too much shit in it for that now.

The lite always felt flimsy and too small for me. The DSi XL is really comfortable and sturdy. I like it the best out of the OG DSs

Which is exactly why making a larger Lite system would be amazing. I can't complain too much about any of the DS systems, but the less weight the better. (Assuming the system doesn't lose anything in exchange.)
To be fair though, I still haven't held an XL yet, so I can only speculate. Though I definitely intend to eventually once I get more money rolling in...some day.

I have a DSi XL, and honestly, I use my DS Lite more. The XL is just too ginormous to me, and I don't like how the blown up pixels make the picture look fuzzier.

It has a little bit of that fuzziness problem. It doesn't really bother me though. I have pretty large hands so it being huge is a good thing for me

I totally agree, the PPI ratio of the DSi XL is horrendous. I bought a DSi XL because everyone said how wonderful the thing is, but the screen quality was so bad I quickly sold it. I'll take a DS Lite over a DSi XL every time.
