Yes the bigger screens create pixelation, but you get used to it. My burgundy DSi XL is probably my most beautiful handheld. The size fits me, and I have rather small hands. I never regretted buying it, it's so much more immersive, and so easily readable: when I play on my DSi Lite, I feel like the screen is really too small. I was happy when Nintendo announced the 3DS XL and I immediately loved it and started using it all the time. The 3DS XL's success proves it was a good idea.. but not for everyone. For me, it's perfect, both DSi and 3DS-wise.

I like the design of the PSP Go and Experia Play. I wish Sony used the design for the Vita and release a new Xperia Play with modern day specs.

I haven't really played DSiXL a lot, but the bigger screen on the n3DSXL was something I got used to pretty quickly. Sure, sometimes the pixelation is kind of noticable, but it's not too bad.

The PPI on the n3DS XL is better than the PPI on the DSi XL though. PPIs: GBA = 97 PPI GBA Micro = 144 PPI DS Lite =107 PPI DSi = 98 PPI DSi XL = 76 PPI 3DS = 132 PPI 3DS XL = 96 PPI Assuming the n3DS XL has at least the PPI of the 3DS XL, that still puts it at having 20 more PPI than the DSi XL's paltry 76.

The New 3DSXL causes handcramping, the Circle Pad is slippery, and the nipple sucks as a 2nd analog. Don't know how people can say it's comfortable. The Vita is no better with it's analog stick placement. I use controller grips for both, improves the comfortness ten-fold. Makes them feel like a more modern console controller. It's like they design these things for dwarves. They don't take into account that most westerners have big hands.

I think like you. Those grips are Heaven sent in terms of ergonomy. My favorite combination is the 3DSXL plus Circle Pad Pro. Those grips are often hard to find, alas.

Yeah, the CPP is nice to hold. I had one on my old XL. Would've been nice if Nintendo kept the same dimensions on the NewXL and made it compatible. I just can't get used to that tiny, stiff c-stick.

Just saw this topic.
PSP-2000. Without a doubt.
I freaking love the form-factor on that thing, and prefer it to most actual controllers. If the TV-out cord came out the back of the system instead of the front, it would pretty much be my ideal choice for playing everything.

They don't take into account that most westerners have big hands. Looks like you're using the Cyber Grip for your 3DS, and that's the best choice. As for the Vita I prefer the dreamGEAR Comfort Grip personally, as it's extraordinarily comfortable. Without grips like those I couldn't play my handhelds for more than 15 minutes without my hands cramping to hell and back.

Yeah, says Cyber Gadget on the packaging. The rest is in Japanese. Got it off a guy on ebay. Imported but still less than 20 bones. Worth every penny, extremely comfortable.
I don't trust Dreamgear. I had another grip for the 3DS made by them and it was flimsy rubber. Also had an arcade stick by them(for emulators) and it was el cheapo poor quality. Eventually went with a x-arcade.
Had another Vita grip made by PDP. It just didn't feel right, and still kept the thumbs bent too much on the analogs. It also had weird triggers on it that required too hard of a press to register.

The Xperia Play has quite a lot more horsepower than a PSP; I was running GBA games full-framerate on it for a while until I turned it in for credit towards my phone bill. The biggest hurdle it has, though, is that it's stuck running Android 2.2.3 (if I remember right), which flat-out locks it out of some of the newer emulators. I don't believe there's any support for it through Cyanogen or ClockworkMod either, so it will flat-out not get any OS updates.

Anyone here owns one of this? It's an Archos Android gamepad. I saw one of these in my local mall and I've consider getting one for emulation purpose. I want to know: - how the build quality - responsiveness of the buttons - any technical issues like it reading random inputs
