=> "the comic" => "checks off"? => No pic of that? => No apostrophe. Also: BT&DD kinda implies that all Battletoads games are "a mess", which is kinda harsh - the game is still fun, after all.

Random thoughts about the titles from this week:
- I'm not too surprised about Rage of the Dragons being a Japanese/Mexican co-production, Mexico has a huge 1-vs-1 fighting game fanbase and also a decent-sized anime fandom. Shame that the market was overcrowded with fighting games and this one couldn't stand a chance at becoming more famous, I think it deserved it. Also, does Elias look kinda like Ozzy Osbourne or what?
- Why all that contempt against the Abobo game? It's stupid, yes, but that was exactly the point and it was nicely playable and entertaining for a while. Or maybe it was just me being caught in the hype for it (despite not being a fan of either i-Mockery or Newgrounds) and I thought that it was much more important than it actually was, deluding myself into believing that 4 years later people would still have remembered it. I also think that the weakest segment was the overlong Balloon Fight sequence. (Back in the day I also made the TV Tropes page for it, because I'm a fucking loser.)

Gotta agree on the Abobo thing. Bit too harsh imo, and the complaints mainly use the dreaded "haha, _____, thats so funny" sarcasm, which can be applied to anything.
I dunno, considering it's just a fanmade game and not official, it seems a bit weird to include it here just for the sake of slamming it.

You know, I actually prefer that Rage of Dragons is unrelated to Double Dragon, what with most characters being walking anime clichés and the setting looking more like present day that post-apocalypse.

Well presumably it wouldn't be the same cast of characters or setting...They didn't just make the game and then realise they didn't have the license for it. What little Double Dragon remains in the game are either leftovers from the project or just a cheeky tribute to the original plan. Pretty safe to say that the cast and everything else in it would be completely different had the game been official, otherwise why would they bother.

My impression was always that Rage of the Dragons realized very early on they couldn't get the Double Dragon license, hence why the only real links to Double Dragon are the main guys being called Billy and Jimmy...and even that is a fairly loose connection, as neither of them really look much like the actual Billy and Jimmy (To be fair, art for them tends to vary massively, but I tend to think of them as looking how they do in Double Dragon 1).
Still on Rage of the Dragon...why do none of the screenshots feature Billy or Jimmy? This IS a Double Dragon article after all, and why they're not "the" Billy and Jimmy, those characters are the only reason the game was included. It seems odd to feature pictures of other cast members and not feature Billy and/or Jimmy in the actual screenshots. (Edit: I tell a lie...there's one shot of Billy)
Also, isn't it Jimmy that guest stars in Matrimelee, not Billy? Pretty sure it was Jimmy. (Edit: it's definitely Jimmy in Matrimelee)

I have to agree that's a little harsh on the Abobo's Big Adventure game, I was an avid reader of I-Mockery from 2007 to 2011 when new content almost entirely dried up.
Also about the movie, you forgot to mention it's supposed to be a post earthquake LA, hence why it's overrun with street gangs, seems like a pretty important plot detail.

The way that Abobo appeared in the movie was pretty scary for me as a kid. >.>

Taking a hint from the first NES game, Billy starts out on the evil side after being brainwashed from infanthood, but turns over to Billy surprisingly smoothly when the Shadow Master orders him killed after he fails the mission to retrieve the dragon sword.
Jimmy is the one who's brainwashed, not Billy.

Kinda sad to see that Super Double Dragon is ignored and forgotten in that trailer.

Its just you. I can see a couple spots in that trailer where up and down motion is allowed.

Have beaten IV already. It takes place in the same canon as the original games, so anything in-between is non-canon (also III now happens between I and II for some reason). Game is nice and controls well enough, but I can't shake the feeling that it looks more like a indie effort than something out of Arc System Works. At least the new character designs are cool fit very well with the series.

The canonicity thing isn't much of a big deal anyway, given that all there really was in between were a half-baked beta, some godawful western games, and remakes. It's a serviceable alternative to random OpenBOR hackfests at any rate.
