They will keep the IP just for using their characters in random games like dating sims or shooters. Ha ha ha! You got that right.

This isn't historically that strange, the division between ninja and samurai is pretty much a fictional thing... Even Hanzo Hattori was actually a samurai.

So maybe it's worth mentioning the secret super moves in Samurai Shodown II? Nakoruru, Galford, Hanzo, and Haohmaru are the only characters that have them.

If you want to add an entry for Samurai Shodown Sen, I have an article all written up, sans HTML and images.

Someone actually submitted a review of Sen...looks like well over a year ago! I remember picking up the game and taking screencaps of it a few months back, but never got around to updating the article.
It's a pretty dire game.

That was me. There was some inaccurate information that I've fixed, and I've revised it in general. Will resubmit.
I strongly disagree that it is "dire."

I see that my Sen review has finally been added with screenshots, and I have an embarrassing mistake to correct, now that my study of Japanese has progressed.
While "sen" does mean "thousand" when written one way, that's not the meaning of the kanji in the game's title. "Sen" as written there refers to a certain strategic position in swordfighting. Please fix this before someone else points it out.
I also find it rather contradictory that the front page says that Sen isn't very good, while my review is largely defensive of the game.
By the way, top ranked SamSho Sen player shinikakepink is still active with the game, and I was able to fight him on Xbox Live again not long ago. It seems it's the only thing he's ever played on his 360 since it came out - talk about dedicated!

There are lots of small grammar mistakes here and there, and I don't really approve of flipping around the names of pre-Meiji Japanese (even fictional ones), but I found a few bigger mistakes: - Samurai Spirits Kenkaku Shinan is repeatedly called Yubinan, which is an obvious misreading of the kanji.
- Zankurō Musōken: Translated as "Infinitely Peerless Blade", but I don't follow where the "Infinitely" comes from.
- Tenkaichi Kenkaku Den is mistakenly spelled Tenkaku in the title.
One more: A picture in the first movie sector is titled "Japanese VHS cover", but the picture shows a telephone card (says so in the upper left corner). That section also complains about Amakusa having been made a girl – I wonder if this was the original intent of the makers, or did the gender switch happen at the dub stage, as I think has happened to other feminine male anime characters. Shirō is a pretty male name, after all.

In 1992, there was Fujiyama Buster and a few weapon-based fighting games like Blandia and Time Killers, but Samurai Shodown combined them with plenty of tweaks and nailed it. I heard one person considered SS2 as the best Neo-Geo game period.

^ I agree with that. I think Samurai Shodown is the best game series Snk has ever created.

Please tell me this is not the actual frame rate of this game.

Maybe on a reaally old phone? I played it on the cheapest Galaxy variant I could buy last summer and it ran perfectly smoothly. No wonder the game failed, with a trailer like that...

Please tell me this is not the actual frame rate of this game. I honestly never heard of this game until now and somehow I'm not surprised SNK's shilling KOF here, same with Derpfense and Revolution. And frankly I think the game looks alright barring the frame rate given that I'm not really fond of the series given my hardship in the first game (I couldn't beat the second match after all). And as for the franchise, at least SNK's compensating for that game with a revival compared to a certain other franchise they seem content with abusing (and it's "revival" of which I know nothing about); after all fighting games are SNK's specialty...
