I'm totally glad I didn't get the DLC now. One thing though- Bloodborne will already be out on PS4 by the time this is out. I think I'd rather go for From Softwares A-game material rather than replay through their B minus-game material

it would be nice if one of the npc updates makes the ones you summon more integrated into the world

Ike and I ran thru the later parts of the first dlc last night, really great stuff - it was easily some of the best level design in the whole series, lots of confusion about where to go and how to explore and tons of secrets and hidden switches. It's kind of lame all this dlc wasn't in the game from the get go, especially since it all came out the same year. It's also too bad seeing that they were able to craft such excellent levels and we got the really bland drangleic castle and that dragon shrine in the main game.

I really liked the first two dlc and had a lot more fun with those than a lot of the main game also. They feel a lot more like Dark Souls than the rest of the game.

So is anyone messing around with Scholar of the First Sin? I picked it up the other day on PC, and already the changes are noteable. The second bonfire in the Forest of the Giants now has a destructible wall leading directly to where you first meet the Pursuer. Speaking of the Pursuer, he now has a curse attack right from the get go, that totally sucks balls. Not just the glowing sword thing. This one shoots out of his chest with several little dark flames that home in on you.
Other things I've noticed are that one of the tutorial areas is now blocked by a person turned to stone, and the opening stream in the Forest now has one of those giant elephant things wandering around. There's also two new hidden treasure chests, one behind a wall in the area near where you first meet Pate, and another in the lower level next to the bastilas (bastilae?), also near Pate.

I am pretty sure a shortcut was always there. Well- from the otherside you could use a firebomb on the barrels or lure an enemy into firebombing them for you.

Ahh, hadn't ran across that before. Good to know, though.

I think there was a way to glitch the barrels on the bonfire side of the room by managing to clip through the wall. I never tried it myself but seen someone do it in the speed run

That is true. I used the fire sword against a hollow in the bonfire room and clipped through the wall. Killed us both in the process.
