Honestly, the whole setup for level five is a mess. It's so long and so little happens. You have the usual "they think you're the bad guys" routine, the long jail sequence, the failed jailbreak, the appeal to the ruler guy, then the sudden cut to the escape sequence. You could probably have cut 75% of the running time there by just having the panda girl encounter them after the boat crash and think you're invading because you're on one of Zao's airships. It would segue pretty seamlessly into the ensuing level

Yeah, I think it may have been a case where the level was designed first, then an excuse to include it in the game was created later. Especially when you consider the Trap Hideout level for Carol and Milla -- its inclusion in the game just before that is also pretty flimsily explained. I'm hoping that when they add a playable story mode for Spade, we get a little more explanation as to why anything that happened in Trap Hideout was actually relevant. Also, Aqua Tunnel. Which literally just exists as stage 1 for Milla, and is never given ANY story explanation whatsoever. (Though it's a damned fun stage, with great music!) ...But really, I'm just bummed that Milla has no story mode. Because I like Milla. Not only is she really fun to play as, she's also an adorable puppy! And there aren't enough dogs in video games. Cat-girls are sooooo overdone. -Tom

She's supposed to have one, but that's DLC. And I haven't heard much on that aside from a few screenshots that show off Torque and how he works. No release date, sadly.

The game is in a bundle at Indie Gala and for the next 20 hours you get it at less than $2 and with some more stuff (among them Crimzon Clover World Ignition).

Also, while this thread is bumped, I should mention this game is getting a WiiU port, to be released sometime "around the end of the year". It'll also come with the DLC, which will include two new characters and some extra stages.

So does that mean the DLC is now pay for DLC? They've been working at it for quite some time.

No, as far as I'm aware, it'll be free for PC users who own the game already.
Really looking forward to it, as I love what I've seen so far!

And here... we... go. And here's everything about it, too! Also! They released a new beta for the original game which includes Torque as a playable character, if you want to see what he's like. He's slow and fragile, but he has guns, which makes up for it. But don't do it right now, because apparently Steam is totally fucked right now, at the time of this posting.

Yay, another trailer that shows nothing of what I'd play the game for.
