Oh, while we're discussing Gundam, that reminded me. All three of the Power Rangers games on the SNES are worth playing. (On Sega consoles... not so much.)
The game based on the original series is a pretty basic, kind of bland platformer/beat-em-up. It does, however, have a cool secret mode where two players can fight it out as a Zord and a couple of the bosses. The game based on the movie is basically a massively improved sequel to that, with co-op, more interesting level design, and generally tighter mechanics.
Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition, on the other hand... I'd go as far as to say that's the best fighting game on the SNES that isn't a port of something else. It's damn fancy: You've got air dashes, EX moves, super moves... not bad for a fighter from 1995. It's sort of a prequel to the Gundam fighters, so if you enjoyed those, you'll probably like it, too. It also has the very unusual case where the final boss is a total bastard... but only if an actual human who knows how to use his invincibility frames is playing as him. Against the AI, he's kind of a joke.

I don't know why Sega kept it, but Zillion (both games) was a license from a japanese manga/anime, which they kept intact worldwide, while the licensed anime seems pretty unknown outside of Japan. The impact of that licensing seems to have been pretty wide at Sega's (the SMS ligh-gun is based on the eponymous laser gun, the "Zillion".) Strange franchising all around, and at least one very interesting game, Zillion 1, came out of it.
Zillion 1 on the Sega Master System, published by Sega, was a take on Epyx's "Mission Impossible" on the Commodore 64, and was just as strangely addictive as that game was on the 64. And it featured only one "song", but that theme was the kind of track you can listen to forever. Almost as good as the never-ending theme from "The Ninja": ie the best the SMS could crank out.

Feels an awful lot like The Ninja Warriors for the SNES (though Natsume made both games). There was another Japanese-exclusive game called Carrangers (probably one of the many MMPR spinoffs? I don't know). Pretty generic but kind of fun, at least for what we could expect out of (what was probably a cheap game) some cheap add-on system by Bandai. (though the game looks to now be one of the most expensive games for said add-on)

Speaking of Gundam, there's Gundam Battle Assault 2, which is pretty much a successor to both Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition and Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, as it's also by Natsume. It's pretty good.

The Power Rangers series is an adaption of Toei's Super Sentai metaseries. They'd use the Japanese action footage and film segments with Western actors, often disgarding the original series plots and characters.
Carranger was one of the series which didn't get a Power Rangers adaption, but I am not sure.
Not going to lie, I watch some of the Power Rangers and Super Sentai now and then for the camp value.

It's pretty good. Indeed, Power Rangers The Fighting Edition and the Gundam figters are really fun games. The Gundam VS series is great too, especially for fans. It's just too awesome to blast away Zeeks while Soldiers of Sorrow plays as bgm^^ Though I only played Federation VS Zeon and AEUG VS Titans yet. But even for themself they are fast arcade-styled Mech-Shooters with many Mobile Suits to choose from and several cool extras. Other good ones would be Magic Knight Rayearth on the Saturn, DBZ Super Butouden 2, Buffy: Chaos Bleeds or Cool Spot. BTW I wonder how they managed to make the MD soundtrack of Cool Spot almost sound more like real instruments than on the SNES^^ (which imo sounds kinda tinny and thin in comparison ) Also many of the other games already mentioned, like the Capcom and Sega Disney games(I love Deep Duck Trouble, very funny animations and memorable bosses), GitS, and the Turtles games. Oh, and has someone already mentioned Kyatto Ninden Teyandee aka Samurai Pizza Cats?

No arguments about the Power Rangers fighting games, but I find the Genesis Movie game much more fun than the SNES one. You're always in ranger mode and you get to play as the zords (including the pre-movie Thunder ones due to flashback stages, which is an interesting gimmick for a 16-bit beat'em up now that I think about it...).

Ah, man. I was a huge Power Rangers fan back in the day, but I only had the first game for SNES. Really wish I had gotten the movie one, too. Does it also have unique sprites for each Ranger?

I always liked Dune II: Battle for arrakis on the Megadrive... And Dune on the Mega CD too. Whilst I'm on the Mega CD front.. The driving sections and music for Batman returns on the MD-CD were superb.
Do any sports games count as Licensed? ya know.. NBA/FIFA/etc etc etc?

Gegege no Kitaro (PS1, GBA) - Metroidvania! Shaman King Master of Spirits 1/2 (GBA) - Metroidvania! Hunter x Hunter Kindan no Hihou (GBC) - Castlevania! (GB-style ones though...) Keroro RPG (DS) - aka Tales of Keroro Keroro 3rd/ Keroro 4th: Dragon Warriors (DS) - Klonoa clones Magical Talaluto (MD) - platformer- a bit on the easy side, but the unlockables aren't that obvious Retsu and Go (SFC, 1998) - racing - Nintendo! Hamtaro (GBC) - RPG - again, Nintendo! Doki Doki Panic (Famicom) - if you don't mind the lack of a run button MC Kids (NES) - good platformer, a hack exists to remove the Mc Donald license fortunately Mc Donald (MD, 1993) - platformer, Treasure Animaniacs (MD) Tiny Toons Adventures (NES, MD) Batman and Robin (both MD and SNES versions) Mickey in Tokyo Disney Land (SFC) Asterix and Obelix XXL (PS2/PC versions passable -a sequel even did good parodies of other games-, the GBA version though is a technological wonder -in 3D!) Bon Bita (DS) IntiCrates Gon (3DS) - Inticrates One Piece Gigant Battle 1/2 (DS) - Jump Super Stars clone! Jump Super/Ultimate Stars (DS) Super Robot Taisen series Digimon series Medarot series - average to good, I mean Yu-Gi-Oh series Gulliver Boy (Saturn version is a proto-Tengai Makyou IV, SFC version is decent though too even though it's a different game) Nadia Secret of the Blue Water (MD) -nice adventure RPG, in English! Conan vs Kindaichi (DS)
and lots of other gems...
Bonk (BC Genjin) started as a comic so that counts, I guess? Cross-media projects Level-5 did (Inazuma Eleven, Youkai Watch, Danball Senki) are pretty good too (and even the worse entries -like last IE GO- fail on the plot but still deliver on the gameplay). Dunno about Hero Bank (Sega), Gyrozetter (SE), and the Capcom-Treasure collaboration one, since I haven't tried them, yet.

Seriously though, guys, Sega's Disney games for the Master System are amazing, and SMS Aladdin is probably the best of the console Aladdin games from what I've seen/played. Not to mention SMS Castle of Illusion greatly surpassing the Genesis game of the same name (in a lot of respects it's like a proto-Ristar, with lots of throwing and climbing as much as platforming and jumping).
Speaking of Castle of Illusion, ain't it strange how the 3DS Illusion game has more remixes of the original game's music than the recent HD remake?
EDIT: Also the Asterix games are apparently really good, but I've never tried them!

Anybody mention the Game Boy Hamtaro games? Ham-Hams Unite is still one of my favorite games for being so "out there." You can't call many games a "foreign-language simulator" and have that be a good thing.
