Why would anyone seriously expect a Tony Hawk game to appear in this? That series is rife with licensing issues, from music to skater likenesses to company logos and the like. I don't expect any Tony Hawk games to ever be rereleased in an unaltered form under any circumstances.

I was really hoping for Legend of Dragoon, as it's a game I've wanted to get access to for ages, but SOny Australia never puts in on PSN (Despite it being on the American one for ages). It not being there is a deal breaker for me (Well that and the overall shoddiness of the line up. There are some good games on there...just not enough) Consider it a mercy from Sony Australia.

No....no I still still consider it incompetence. An insult even. The Aussie PSN is complete shit versus what just about all other countries get, i'd rather the option to buy and play old game, even if I end up hateing it, rather than a company that just sticks its fingers in its ears and screams "LALALA" any time we ask "Can we have that option too?"

Oh please be as easily hackable as the NES Classic!
This is what I'm hoping for too. If it's hackable I'll seriously consider getting it.

I wouldn't be very optimistic about that. Even if the system is hackable, it's very likely that Sony cheapened out and used the smallest memory storage size it could find on the market.

Gamespot takes a look at their demo of the Playstation Classic
(God damn, my SNES has some discoloration from the aging plastic, but not that dramatic!)

It could be better, but I think it looks decent. My interest in it is helped by the fact that I don't own and haven't played the majority of games in it, so regardless of whatever games could have/should have been included, I'd still be getting a bunch of stuff I'd never experienced before in this collection.

Some games are PAL versions even if you buy the NTSC Mini. blog.us.playstation.com/2018/11/26/playstation-classic-the-miniature-ultimate-faq/ Battle Arena Toshinden* Cool Boarders 2* Destruction Derby* Grand Theft Auto* Jumping Flash!* Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee* Resident Evil Director’s Cut* Tekken 3* Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six* I bought one before learning this. Tekken 3 wouldn't be worth playing on this thing now because it is a 50hz title.

Americans, feel our pain!
I'm actually baffled how they managed to fuck this up so spectacularly. PAL games on a US system. Even Nintendo doesn't pull that shit anymore.

So, wait. It says they are based on the PAL version. Does that actually mean they're 50hz or what?
If it does, seriously, what the fuck? That makes the product literally useless. And it'll be just like in the old days where a lot of people will buy it without knowing they'll get an inferior experience.
What the fuck, man.

Yeah, pretty much 50Hz. The speed of the game is dictated by the software, unlike in other consoles where you can over ride it.
Maybe they will over ride it but if these run at 60hz you'll get ruined music and glitches galore.

Sony's reputation as a bare-minimum provider continues. I wonder how you fuck up something that basic. Were the team working on such a tight deadline? I mean, the PS1 and PS2 were Sony's golden years as a video game console company. Shouldn't Sony give an ounce of a crap when paying tribute to that era? Obviously not, it's gonna sell anyway. See first sentence - here's a company I don't know many fans of, even if they like (some of) their products.

At first I was questioning if this was an oversight when building the Western version of the Mini with Europe and North America in mind but then who would use PAL versions?
Sony been cynical about their legacy for a while now too. PS1 isn't on PS4. PS2 classics on PS4 died out. Their Playstation fighter just goes after the minimum of nostalgia. One of the executives don't care about PS1 games in an interview.

If only that was the only issue.
Frame pacing and performance issues as well. Basically not even worth buying to hack it.
