Those absolute maniacs, they did it. They actually did it.

I see they have the original PS1 controller and not the dualshock. That's kind of an interesting decision. I wonder if they'll manage to get all the musts on there. With the NES and SNES a large portion were Nintendo's own titles, but the classics on PS systems are from all over the place.
It's pretty tempting to get this (depending on the line-up, so far only FFVII really is on my wishlist), but I don't really need it, nor do I like the way PS1 games look on modern TVs. I guess I'll see how impulsive I feel when this comes out, haha.

Oh please be as easily hackable as the NES Classic!

This uses the original Playstation controller? Really? Playing games with the PS1 D-pad alone was bloody awful and the DualShock made it completely obsolete.
Pass.

I pre-ordered this thing!
I could make a list of what 20 games should be there (I think we all could) but I’m not doing that.
OR AM I? ... ..
Klonoa! Tomba! Alundra! Gunner’s Heaven! Adventures of Little Ralph! Vib Ribbon!
Though I expect first and foremost stuff like Crash, Spyro, Syphon Filter, PaRappa... I don’t need Symphony of the Night again but I guess it could technically be there, together with MGS and, dunno... Silent Hill? Suikoden? Resident Evil?
SPICE WORLD?

Aren't PS1 games improved in terms of loading and visuals by playing on PS2-3? As with the SNES one I don't see the point, it's a waste of resources.
-No AC cable included
-No analog stick controllers
-Non-cross platform controller ports
-No online probably so can't expand or replace library without hacking
-Can't play 4-player games probably

If SotN isn't on there, that would just be plain wrong. Just like how it should have FFVII, Crash Bandicoot, MGS and Resident Evil. Any of those missing and they failed on the game selection front IMO. -No online probably so can't expand or replace library without hacking When will people learn that that's not the point of these kind of products. You should see them as stand-alone game complilations. Instead of being for the PS4, it's got this novel little console around it.

I like that the Plug N Play systems are getting better beyond the Jakks Pacific era. That said, they really need a game that will pull people in that they may not be able to get elsewhere, like with Star Fox 2 and the SNES Classic. Did the Playstation have any finished, but cancelled games?

As with the SNES one I don't see the point, it's a waste of resources. The point is nostalgia. Whole generatiosn of gamers are now old enough to falsely remember previous times as having been better and wanting some novelty item that reminds them of them, no matter if there are better alternatives these days.

No Analog means no Ape Escape and that's no good. I like the 3rd party selection so far. Type-4 and Tekken 3? Yes please.

And it's not novel, plug & play's been done since the 80s I believe. I totally understand the nostalgia and materialist aspects of it, I just think those are dumb reasons. You can get the games that will be on it elsewhere and you'll probably get tired of seeing it in maybe a few months and put it in the closet.
