Anyone still using their nes or snes mini? Yup. I tend to play something for a bit, at least once a week. I've been using the NES Classic to emulate PC-Engine and Genesis games. Works quite beautifully for the most part.

A DF Retro video on the Playstation Classic was inevitable. It's worth watching; it compares the PS Classic both to original PS1 hardware, and to other options for playing classic Playstation games, such as the PSP, PS Vita, NVIDIA Shield running an emulator, etc.

I'd rather buy this on Ebay or smth, if i really wanted to play some games on a hardware.

Works quite beautifully for the most part. I really need to look into that sometime. There's no difference between what the NES mini and SNES mini are capable of, right? Are they easy to reset to factory conditions after you hack them?

Resetting to factory settings is the easiest thing you can do. The hakchi app/program already has a setting to keep the original set of games. Capability for NES and SNES Mini are about the same. SNES Mini's main difference is that it allows for a "rewind" of a save state, which makes a file that takes up more memory. Both will emulate other systems, like Sega Master System, GB Advance, Genesis, even up to N64 and PS1 games (but those aren't practical since the game files can take up most of the space). Worst case scenario, if you throw in too many roms and use too many save states, the system will crash with an error screen. In which case, you just need to start deleting stuff to free up memory, and bring things back to normal. The hardest thing to tinker for is for MAME, since I've only got half of the games I wanted to work.
The NES Classic alone has enough space to house the entire main library of NES Roms.

Another edition to the ongoing awkwardly botched PlayStation Classic Saga...

It's almost if they slapped this thing together without trying too hard.

It's pretty sad the best console version of Rainbow Six was for the N64. The Playstation version that's on the PS Classic I remember getting brutally savaged in reviews.

Looks like Bleemsync is being used to hack games on Playstation Classic. There are some tutorials up on youtube already. Just load the software some games onto a USB, plug and play. No alteration on the Playstation Classic directly, since it is essentially just using a pre-existing emulator and slapped together haphazardly.

Is there even a point to that? From what I have read, the emulation is subpar. Or can that be fixed via the settings menu?

So this thing being easily fixable and moddable, I decided to buy it for myself. At $100 the system is way too much, but plenty of places like Amazon, Best Buy, and Target make it easy to grab for around $50. Price felt right, and I just happened to get mines in the mail. I can't do much with it at the moment because I've hurt my hand, but once I'm healed up in the next couple of weeks I'm going to take the thing apart and turn it into the Playstation Classic this console should've been in the first place.

If it's easily fixable, then why in the hell is it such a bad state by default?

If it's easily fixable, then why in the hell is it such a bad state by default? This was probably a rush job by Sony to get it out for the Christmas sales.
