I know this is an old thread, but hear me out.
The licenced game that surprised me most of all was "Garfield's Nightmare" for nintendo DS. It's a really fun/easy platformer, with the most amazing graphics to ever hit the DS. I highly suggest you play it.
Others include
Toy Story (SNES) Looney Tunes (GB) ( by sunsoft) Powerpuff Girls: Mojo-Jojo-a-Go-Go Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers (NES) Duck Tales (NES) The Lion King (SNES) Mickey Mania (SNES) Mickey Mouse 3 - Yume fuusen (NES) (JP) Star Wars (NES)
I know there are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I hope you mean JVC's version, and not Namco's 1987 Famicom version. Why? Well, wait until I get my article posted...you'll see. =P

I don't know if I'd say JVC's Star Wars sucks, but I don't know if I'd say I like it either.
Empire Strikes Back is an odd beast. Kind of good but overlong and the boss fights are extremely tedious. Some are very easy, and then some take a good five minutes worth of standing in a safe spot dealing damage constantly.
