Retards? I don't think so. It's been confirmed by Valve that when Armageddon occurs only the players with the most hats in TF2 will be chosen by Gabe and taken to the promised land where they can play Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

...I've never played Half-Life. The closest I've been is playing Portal on The Orange Box.

Valve may have done it, but the community is what enabled and encouraged it. I hardly blame them - if I were in the same opportunity, I'd gladly fuck over that many idiots for free money.
